HI Everyone,
I have a question about the process of getting approved both on his PIN# so he can call me and my visiting application getting approved. When we were together before, he was in Kingston Pen and it only took a few days. The PIN# thing has been close to two weeks now and it still isnt cleared. What gives??? Is this normal these days? How long does it take to get approved to visit once they receive my application? They should receive that this week, I sent it out on Wed(21). I cant believe how much they drag their feet.I work for the DOC here where I live and it never takes long. I guess the same does not apply in Canada. Anyway, if I had a time frame, I would not feel so anxious. I want to plan a trip to see him, but cannot if I dont know when I w!ill be approved:angry: . Any help is appreciated~

I dunno ... for the visitor stuff they got my stuff on the 12th and I'm still waiting for my visits to be approved ... so hopefully next week they will :(

All I know is that NOTHING seems to be happening in there over Christmas. The mail isn't even getting to him in any sort of timely fashion at the moment. I don't think they have much staff working over the holidays. Hang in there! I'm sure it will come through soon after Christmas is done.

It will take a bit longer probably because you are living in America and I dont know if you are a non-Canadian citizen but if you are that would also contribute to that. We also have Christmas day and Boxing day (26th) are holidays and not much administration will be done probably. I suggest you give it another week and then call the prison and make sure they have received the application and when they expect it to be cleared.

I believe that admin is off throught the holidays. I know that when gage was in kingston it took 3 weeks to get me on hi PIN and it took almost 4 months to get approved to visit then it took me 6 months to get off his visiting list....
Keep your head up girl, its the holidays and it will take a bit longer but u will get a call soon. If he was in before and u were on his list it shouldnt take long. Is he back in kingston????Keep ya head up, Jill

I think you are right Jill and they probably wont be back in the offices full time till Tuesday.

They finally called to see if it was ok for him to call! I called the facility and they said it would be 5 days until he is notified!!! So hopefully next week I can talk to him...IM DYING to hear his voice!:love: I know it will be a few weeks for the visiting application to get approved. I have planned a trip to see him in March, this way I know it will be done. I already have a week off in Feb that I am going to Vegas, so I cant take anymore time off that month. March isnt too far off.........:( The phone calls will certainly help once they start coming!! I'll keep you posted. God I miss him.

Hey there! My husband is getting transfered very soon. How long does the visiting application take?? Not long cause I'm already on it??

where is your hubby being transferred to? and if youre already on a visiting list, you dont have to worry about re-applying unless its been 2yrs(they want you to update your info every 2yrs). the process for me, took maybe 3wks.
