My husband calls me everyday and I haven't heard from him at all today. It's Christmas Eve and I just spoke to him last night and he said he'd call today. Anyone know what the status of yard 5 is?
Thanks!

My husband was just moved to Yard 5, concerning phone calls, does anyone know if they can buy prepaid minutes or make only collect calls? Just wondering. Thanks.

Hey there again, so now I know your hubby is at Avenal .... it is COLLECT calls ONLY but if you live in another state it will cost you dearly through MCI ...
I suggest to many that live out of state to hook up with www.prisoncallsonline.com (http://www.prisoncallsonline.com) it is much cheaper. My calls from Steve through MCI were almost 35.00 a call for 15 minutes ... with prisoncalls they are 7.40 per 15 minute call for me plus my monthly fee. It's all prepaid also ...

Does anyone know if there are any problems with the phones on Yard 5? I haven't received a call from my husband in awhile.

So TerriB......you would recommend PCO? I'm in the process of moving so I don't have a home phone at the moment. I would like him to be able to call me directly on my cell which I understand PCO can do....?? I put a call in to them on Friday - missed their return call back to me....but you would recommend them??

Yes I highly recommend them, just don't talk about it on the phone with him just write the letter and say what your new number is and for him to call it, it will be a local number for you then.
Once you move though I would suggest getting a remote number and then have it forwarded to your home number to forward to your cell phone it probably would be cheaper for you that way. Although I'm not sure on prices anymore sorry.

Ok....just curious - why not discuss it on the phone with him?
