State board says youth prison staffers should get jobs back

SACRAMENTO -- A state employment board repeated an earlier decision this week that six staffers should be hired back to a youth prison near Stockton after they were fired in connection with a videotaped fight with two wards.
The state's Division of Juvenile Justice fired the so-called Chad 6 in the aftermath of the Jan. 20, 2004, fight at N.A. Chaderjian Youth Correctional Facility. Two of them were fired for using excessive force, the other four for writing false reports of the fight.
