View Full Version : How's the weather?
luckyme1526 12-22-2005, 02:38 AM Hi Everyone,
Well since this is an all Cali forum, I was wondering how the weather is in your part of town? I'm always interested in the weather, I don't know why.
Here in San Diego the weather is fantastic, sunny in the day time (a lil chilly at times) and cool and crisp in the evening, but at night time it does get pretty cold.
I've always wanted to have a white Christmas, but it doesn't snow here, at least not where I live it. :(

NIKKIWHIT70 12-22-2005, 10:38 AM I am close to LuckyMe so we are having beautiful weather here in San Diego. On Christmas it's suppose to be in the upper 70's. NICE!!!
mfmorecook 12-23-2005, 02:32 AM Hello
Here in Crescent City it has rained hard all week with winds. That meant sideway rain. Being from Southern California until I moved up here 3 years ago that type lf rain was a real shocker. We are expecting showers on Saturday and Sunday but no heavy rain.
This is a beautiful place to live and I feel blessed each and every day to be up here. The best part is being able to visit with my husband who is in the SHU every weekend.
Merry Christmas to everyone

88reasons 12-24-2005, 09:34 PM UPDATE:
UNRELENTING!!!!!!!!!!!
We are currently organizing an ark building crew......
California Sunshine 12-24-2005, 11:10 PM It stopped raining in Sac. but has been really nasty and humid! Today it was sunny most of the day
California Sunshine 12-25-2005, 02:28 PM Well Christmas Day and it is pouring buckets out there! Bummer going to make it hard to get all the gifts/foods in the car for my various stops without getting soaked!
Crstnamre 12-26-2005, 05:36 PM Its been dreary here.....sprinkled a little last night and this morning.
skatergirl 12-28-2005, 03:50 AM I`m near Frankfurt in Germany and on xmas days it was quite warm (about 50 degree) but yesterday it started snowing. It looks nice white outside but the forecast says it won`t last, so it won`t be real good for playing outside. Usually we get "real" winter in January/February. ;)
88reasons 12-30-2005, 05:33 PM there's A Flood In My Living Room!! Waaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!
luckyme1526 12-31-2005, 02:07 AM 88reasons, are you serious? If so, I'm very sorry to hear that.
The weather is still awesome over here in sunny San Diego!!

California Sunshine 12-31-2005, 02:28 AM It is storming here lots of rain and wind
RachelKaren 12-31-2005, 03:00 AM I'm almost embarrassed to say it after hearing how rough it is for those of you up north, but is was another beautiful day in San Diego ( which I appreciated even more having just spent 10 days in beautiful but FREEZING and soaking wet Oregon!).
momuvjosh 12-31-2005, 08:36 AM 88 reasons, are you serious about the flooding? Im in the Redding area and we are having some flooding. Boat rescues and stuff. We have a creek next to us and one of our cars, water was up to the floor board last night but has receded some this morning. I guess rain here for the next few days. By the way I LOVE Crescent City too.
LovingYou 12-31-2005, 12:53 PM It's raining in LA right now but I love it!
88reasons 12-31-2005, 04:14 PM Mendocino county has been declared a state of emergency... every single road getting me out of here is CLOSED!!
other parts of the interior are being evacuated ... thats some serious flooding.... !!!!!!!! YIKES!!!! Better rethink my weekend!!!
I was SOOOOO hoping to be there for him on the first day of the year!!!!!!!!!!!! CRAP!! I am so mad... its been way too long and he is gonna be bummed that I made ANOTHER apointment and didnt make it!!
oh well, at the moment it isnt raining so the puppy gets to play outside for a bit.. which he is loving
I live near a tiny creek that is now as big and fast moving as the sacramento river. Its scary and unnerving... I am on high ground though... but the rain is due back any minute ... and this horrendous leak in my living room has exposed some really nasty cat pee smell ... must be in the wood of the floor, because the rugs were new when i moved in 6 months ago.. and i dont do cats.

William'sBaby 12-31-2005, 05:19 PM I live in Solano County and it is flooded everywhere! The Interstate 80 in Fairfield (a city next to Vacaville) has been closed since early this morning because a levy broke and the entire freeway is under water! The traffic is backed up for MILES! It's horrible. I'm glad I didn't have plans to go out of town for New Year's! :shake:
Laura, William's Baby:heart:
LovingYou 12-31-2005, 05:48 PM Sorry to hear about all the floods. And the cat pee smell must be horrible. I love cats but cat pee is a horrible, horrible smell. You guys keep safe.

You and 88Reasons be safe!!!!!
luckyme1526 12-31-2005, 08:16 PM Wow that all sucks, I didn't know it was like that for some of you ladies. I'm sorry to hear that some of you are having problems with floods. I'm in Tijuana Mexico right now, my family lives here. The weather is great, there was only a little drizzle a while ago but that's it. Happy New Year to all!
Rebeca
88reasons 01-01-2006, 01:13 AM the sky is clear enough to see a lot of constellations, but ALL the roads are closed, because of flooding and mud slides... there is no passing, and once I actually DO find a passible county route that's not the beaten path, and I actually make it without wrecking or getting stuck, the major corridors nearer the prison are also flooded/closed ...
and the good news? there is another storm on its way and two more to follow after that.
all I want is to see him.... and yes, I would travel 9 hours R/T of BS weather for an hour of bad speaker system and scratched plexiglas.... just so's we can look at each other.
California Sunshine 01-01-2006, 03:04 PM It's crazy here! The wind is gusting so hard I just heard a loud thud in my back yard so something fell! Can't see what it was though! Last time we had a big storm the fence fell down!!
momuvjosh 01-01-2006, 04:10 PM Isnt Willits in Mendocino County? My inlaws live there. I thinks thats hwy 20 but am not certain. I just got back from a 2 day stay in Mt Shasta and its has lots of snow. they have a New Years party at the ski lodge every year. I dont ski but the rest of the family does. Happy New Year to ALL!! 88reasons 01-01-2006, 07:35 PM yes,, its is the highway 101/20 intersection.....
its pretty much a mess in willits too.
I dont think there is any passage in or out. It may be high enough altitude to catch a little snow tonight.
should be fun for people who dont gotta be anywhere... i absolutely hate driving in the snow.. wont do it!

LovingYou 01-02-2006, 06:17 PM Ok since we are talking about the weather and it's been crazy lately, can any of you help me out. I'm driving this Friday night to go visit at Mule Creek.
Is there any weather related stuff I should be aware of? I'm driving from LA.
It's been raining in LA but not too bad. I'm staying in Galt and then drive to the prison. I don't want any surprises when I get there.
Thanks a million.

luckyme1526 01-19-2006, 02:14 AM Hi Everyone,
I was wondering how the fog situation is over there in Central and Northern Cali. I want to go to visit this weekend but I want to know what the travel conditions are like.
Rebeca
California Sunshine 01-19-2006, 10:31 PM It is so freaking cold here right now! I don't like the heat but dang this is too cold I want it to be about 70 LOL It is only 45 right now brrrrrrr
luckyme1526 01-20-2006, 04:41 AM Damn girl that is cold! Right now it's about the same temperature but it's kind of windy and it's freezing, I hope that it's not as foggy over in Central Cali as it was last time, that was scary!

kristinam79 01-20-2006, 09:27 AM I am going up tomorrow for the weekend so I hope the weather isn't to bad, if it is then I will just get there a little late tomorrow to avoid the fog.. then I am off to hanford...
TerriB 01-20-2006, 09:56 AM Well lately in the Avenal, Pleasant Valley area they are running in the mid 50's during the day and in the lower to mid 30's of a nite.
The forecast for this weekend is about the same with more clouds coming in for Saturday nite with a few showers on Sunday. You should be fine as far as driving, it's suppose to be closer to 60 on Saturday and Sunday as well.
Goodluck and have a GREAT VISIT!!!
luckyme1526 02-18-2006, 04:29 AM Hi Everyone,
Well I was looking at the weather forecast for central Cali and it doesn't look good at all. They have a "winter storm watch" going on close to the grapevine because it will be so cold.
Here in San Ysidro it's not too bad, it did rain for awhile but looks as if the rain died down for now, so hopefully it will stay that way, but then again here in San Diego we usually don't have too bad weather at all. How about where you ladies live?
Rebeca
Cheetoes1 02-18-2006, 06:18 PM It rained this AM in LA. And now it's clear and sunny :)

luckyme1526 03-28-2006, 02:12 AM Hi All,
It's me again, and again I want to know about the weather? How are we doing with the fog over by Bakersfield, the Grapevine, Central Cali.? I want to know because I want to go to Coalinga and it was real foggy about 3 weeks ago when I last went over there. And then 2 weeks ago my boyfriend called me and said that it was raining pretty bad over there.
I just want to know more or less what's up that's all. Thanks in advance! =)

Malaika 04-21-2006, 10:42 AM Hi, in London England it is overcast, a little rain every now and again and some sunshine but not much. Last few times I spoke to my hubby in CTF the weather had been lousy - tons of rain - he got caught out in one shower. Boy, did I laugh at the idea of him sheltering by the phone, him telling me about guys running for shelter. I could hear all these guys trying to get closer to him to shelter too! Hopefully the weather will improve.
luckyme1526 04-23-2006, 09:20 PM I know what you mean, it rained pretty hard here too last night, but it was only for a few minutes and I heard that it didn't rain as hard in all parts of San Diego. Oh well, Spring is here so I bet that the weather will get better anytime now!
Rebeca
joeyzhrtz 04-23-2006, 11:24 PM Today was cloudy alittle. But yesterday it rained here in the IE.And it snowed in the mountains.I know because I had to drive in it at 2am.
