Hi Ladies.. Many of us stay over night in SLO during our visiting weekends. Where do you all stay? Give us a little information on why you like or dont like it. Rates, Amenities, you know things like that.

I have stayed at:

Motel 6, north and south. The price is right but nothing special. Its OK

The Travelodge off of Monterey is about $60 per night and the rooms are super clean, the bathrooms are spotless, hair dryer, and continental breakfast included. The T.V's are fuzzy though.

The Econolodge on Olive is cool too. The bathrooms arent that great but rooms are clean, Hair Dryer, Lots and lots of towels, Ironing board and iron in room. $100 per night.

I'll be staying at the Peach Tree Inn on Jan. 7th. I'll let you all know how that goes.

Where do you all stay and why?

I stay at the Motel 6...the South is better than the North...
Sometimes I stay in Motel 6 Atascadero...

I also like the Sunbeam but it's old...the people are really friendly though.

I enjoyed staying at the Sunbeam when the rates were reasonable 39.00 per night, true its older but Henry is great and its in walking distance to downtown. I love being able to get around town without needing to drive.

Ive also stayed at Motel 6 South, North and Atascadero
South is best they have bathtubs
North is ok, Id use them last minute and same for Atascadero

I've stayed at the Apple Farm Inn a few times and that place is just beautiful. It's pretty pricey...but it's soooo nice. The rooms have fireplaces inside and the beds are so comfortable....just beautiful!

I've also stayed at The Cliffs Resort in Pismo Beach and that place is also soooo nice. You have your own private balcony that overlooks the ocean. So at night I would stand on the balcony and listen to the waves crash while the sun sets....very nice!

Whenever you ladies want to grab a bite to eat after a visit and go hang out at the beach let me know....I love the beach!

I have stayed in Motel 6 North. I don't really care for it, rooms are not that great but after driving 8 1/2 hours I just want to go to sleep, but it doesn't give you the comfortable feeling. I also stayed at a Motel 6 30 miles from CMC but not sure where it actually was, besides by the water. Rooms were clean and it was comfortable, it was $72. Sorry I don't remember the town or city.

claudia: The peach tree in is a sweet little place i stayed there when i first seen my honey, they have a nice breakfast in the morning...it was a little pricy thought but that was in the summer time when the rates are higher.

I've stayed at the peach tree, motel 6 north ( had no radio or bath tub) and Hostel obispo whick i really liked it was $20 a night and had pancakes for $1 for breakfast... you share a room with a bunch of other girls it was great for me cause i was alone and like to have people to hang out with...it was clean, safe and everyone was very friendly.

I visited this weekend and stayed at the Peach Tree Inn. It was such a cute lil spot! It feels like your staying in a bedroom and not a hotel room. the bed has an actual comforter and lots of pillows. Its kind of cottage themed place.

PROS
-Extra pillow and blanket
-Iron
-Folding chairs in closet in case you have someone over
-Also has a love seat
-Hair dryer
-27 inch tv
-AC
-Cable
-Coffee Maker
-Alarm clock
-They have free movie rentals
- the bathroom is nice and clean
Continental Breakfast: They have the cutest lil eating area. They have a spread of different kinds of fresh bread ready to slice, peanut butter, jelly, butter. Fresh Muffins (different kinds). Oh and fruit too, Watermelon, grapes, ect. Boiled eggs. Apple and Orange juice, and Coffee of course.

-They have the News Paper and plenty of books for you to look at while you enjoy your breakfast.

-They also have this little patio area with chairs so you could just kick back and relax.

CONS
-No Tub
-The AC doesnt have a Heat setting, like at most places. They do have a little electric heater in the room so the room takes a little longer to heat up, but eventually you'll be cozy.
-The shower... it takes a little while to get hot water.

And thats about it girls, I would stay there again.. as a matter of fact I am, in 2 weeks.

The total cost for me was $75 tax inc. 1 night, single.

Wow Claudia, the Peach Tree sounds so cozy. I remember seeing it before but since I haven't been there in almost a year I've forgotten where it's at. Can you please let m know where it's at?

Hey Lisa! Yea its a cute lil place.. its modest. The room I stayed in was small but it had all the amenities I needed and the price is not bad for all that you get. Its like your spending the night at someones house or something. The eating area won me over, I was waiting for grandma to come out with her little apron to sit me down .:)

Here's the website so you could check it out!

I stayed at the Peach Tree Inn again and I guess every room is different because this time the room was more "hotelish looking" but it still has that homley feel with upholstered headboard and this time the bathroom had a tub and the room had a wall heater. So it was nice and warm. and it had all the extras the previous room I listed had.

Another thing I forgot to list... A trolley stops right in front of the Inn and takes you downtown for free.

Ladies, a friend of mine stayed at the Embassy Suites this weekend in SLO. I went and kicked it with her after our visits on Sat. The room was very nice and big. There were 2 queen beds and a couch in the living room that turns into a queen bed as well. They have an indoor pool, a sauna, workout room with equipment, happy hour from 5:30pm-7:30pm and all the drinks are free....yes FREE and they have a complimentary breakfast in the morning and it's not just coffee and bagels. It's a full breakfast with everything.

The cost for the room is about $150 a night but if 3 girls get together a share a room it's only about $50 per night.....and it sure beats the Motel 6. ;) If any of you are interested in sharing a room at the Embassy Suites PM me k.....

Oh yeah I forgot to remind everyone, the prices at Motel 6 go up about $7 starting this coming weekend (Feb 11th). So starting this weekend it will be about $48 per night for a room. Then around April or May the price will go up to about $75 per night.
