View Full Version : Project Angel Tree
His Brown Suga 12-20-2005, 11:55 PM Question: Did Any Of Your Husbands Sign You Up For The Angel Tree Program To Help You And Your Children Out With Christmas? If So How Did You Like It And What Do You Think About The Program?
My husband signed our family up and I was very surprised and pleased with the local church who assisted. They are helpful and very understanding. My kids recieved gifts and they even supplied a food basket. I never knew so many were so supportive in assisting inmates with their loved ones at holiday time. It means a lot to me since he is not here and to know that he was kind enough to request what he is not here physically able to do himself.
kittenn0816 12-21-2005, 12:22 AM Nahh, I have only heard of it when it comes to the Military.

SCM32 12-21-2005, 12:27 AM My guy signed us up this year, but no one called. Last year they did though, and they hand delivered a whole bag full of presents for my kids :) I have no clue why they didn't call me this year. He told me if he knew they weren't gona come by this year, he would have started saving his money a long time ago (like back in Janurary :p ) to buy them something from him for Christmas. ;) But I told him not to worry cause his name is on the presents they getting from me, from him too ;)

Thats so kind of you, Im sure your children will be happy none the less and Im sure that made him feel good as well. True there is little time left but hopefully they will still call you. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

cysreese 12-21-2005, 01:43 AM Crystal,
That was very sweet. I never heard of the program though.
Bob-bi-lu 12-21-2005, 11:29 AM We don't have any kids, so he didn't sign up.
My cousin (who they make all those baby mama drama songs about...ha ha ha) must have signed up to like 10 of those places. She had her friends car filled with gifts...good gifts too. She just takes way to much advantage and people like her shouldn't be allowed to participate.....she's sooo ungrateful! I can understand maybe signing up to 1 place...but 10 is just crazy. She's taking away from other families that really need it.
drenabugg 12-21-2005, 02:32 PM Yes he did sign us up. Tomorrow the church is throwing a Christmas partying in our honor so the kids can meet Santa and get there gifts. I think it is wonderful that they do this for the kids.
4ever&4always 12-21-2005, 02:41 PM Yes he did, I received them just this last sunday. Then he called sunday night and I got to tell him that they came by and dopped them off. I could hear the happiness in his voice...it was very sweet. This is a great program, I am very thankful there are people out there that care this much......Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

LovingYou 12-21-2005, 08:16 PM They delivered it yesterday morning. The kids were so happy.
dana2nice2000 12-21-2005, 08:17 PM Yes, my husband signs up for it every year. They are nice gifts too and the people are so polite. It makes me feel good too because he is doing more for the kids mentally when they open their gifts on Christmas and know they are from their daddy. I'm not too down during the holiday season. I only wish he was home but recieving the gifts and the cards he sends with his letters makes it all worth while.:)
drenabugg 12-23-2005, 11:12 AM I went to the Angel Tree/church Christmas party last night. It was really nice. The kids and my sister got like 4-5 gifrts a piece.
meatwoman98 12-23-2005, 11:58 AM I recieved a letter and was told that they would deliver presents for the kids on the 19th of dec, but no one came and i really dont feel right calling and asking where are the gifts so maybe someone else needed them more than us, but yes he did put in a request when he was in San Q which was a very nice jester on his part. anyways have a great holiday and happy new year!
