mandamae 12-23-2005, 05:28 PM Sorry to say this but I'm REALLY jealous... I was told I was going to Alderson but when my letter came it said Greenville IL...just what I needed to make matters frigging worse. I report on Jan. 13th. oooHHhh Friday the 13th...how ironic :(
veryscared 12-24-2005, 09:31 AM Sorry mandamae,
I had a reccomendation for alderson, by the judge who sentenced me.
and honestly speaking I was worried that I would no get designated there, because my sentence was so short. I had heard that people with short sentences go to a Federal Detention Center. I am thankful because I heard that if you have to do time Alderson is the place to do it.
mandamae 12-24-2005, 02:59 PM Yes apparently it is, and I was supposed to have a recommendation as well. Everyone including the prosecutor felt some remorse for me throughout all this, but once out of the courtroom and into the BOPs hands, they don't know me and my case, I'm only a name on a sheet of paper. I'm hurt by their decision and the fact that I have a lawyer who doesn't give a damn, he's glad i'm out of his hands now. Of course he was federally appointed, no wonder. I thought he cared...until the judge called out an excrutiating sentence far beyond anything we could have prepared for. Then my lawyer acted like the ridiculous sentence was actually ok and walked out of the courtroom without saying a word to me....what a bastard...
w8ting4myluv 12-24-2005, 03:10 PM Good luck to all of you and I hope that all goes smoothly no matter where you end up!!
Atalie 12-24-2005, 08:12 PM Good luck VeryScared! I am happy for you getting to go to Alderson.
mandamae, I am so sorry, it sounds like you got kinda screwed by your lawyer and the judge. Hope everything works out for both of you.
myjacobs 01-11-2006, 04:23 PM You are very lucky. My husband, though eligible for FPC was told they were all closing. :(
Martha2 01-11-2006, 07:40 PM have just been registed since yesterday so forgive any mistakes I may make. I was just sentenced yesterday to t months at a camp in Floirda the Judage said Miami but I have learned through all of you that can mean anywhere and 5 months on house arrest. I am self surrendering on April 7th. I have heard you are going to a beautiful place and one of the best places in the system. Best of everything to you. It will be over soon and all behind. I am looking forward to that day as well.
Martha2 01-11-2006, 07:41 PM Type "o's" again. I was senteced to 5 month in Camp.
SusanT 01-12-2006, 07:20 PM You're one step closer to freedom.
okladyfarmer 06-11-2006, 05:04 AM I get sentenced on June 26th, first timer 57 years and married for 38 years to the same man. I plead guilty and cut a deal (was a mule) rather than look at life. I got into this to afford my husbands cancer treatments and meds. The only things I know is from visiting my baby sister at Bryan when she was in there for drug delivery. I supported her and visited and paid for our mom, sister and her daughters to visit and for her furl lows to home and now she won't speak to me - told my middle son that she did her time now it was my turn. So much for family. At least my sons and husband are here for me. I sleep with a CPAC and am taking Zoloft(200mg) @ bedtime. It has been suggested that I ask for Carswell or Bryan. Why is Alderson a place to be sent? Please advise - I admit I'm scared.
selah7 06-26-2006, 09:22 PM If you have issues with your health - please request Carswell. They will take better care of you. I was at Alderson and they have HORRIBLE medical care. Please ask your attorney to recommend to the judge Carswell or one of the other camps that have better medical care. I know that Alderson does not properly treat the women and often times the medications they prescribe complicate the problems or create new ones. I had a friend who went to Carswell until she was well enough to get through the end of her sentence at Alderson. Perhaps someone else can better assist you with other recommendations. But as of December 2005 - they were not properly treating inmates and there were several lawsuits against the BOP as a result of really poor care.
May God protect you and guide you!
Suzanne
