Just hearing on the news that Matsqui is on lockdown today. They have found some live bullets and suspect there may be a weapon inside somewhere. Apparently some Xmas visits will be cancelled.

I hate when I hear news like that, especially so close to Christmas. I hope that its cleared up quickly and any weapons, if any are found. Thank you for posting that info.

I figured there would be ... my guy called me yesterday to let me know that might happen 'cause they had a Social on sunday (or whatever it's called when they open it up to family and stuff).

He's supposed to call me on thursday morning again, so hopefully it will be over by then :)

How stupid am I??!! Sitting here waiting for ringo to call me and he's an hour late - I suddenly realize that the RRAC is part of Matsqui and he'd be locked down too!

Ok - ignore my last post! I just got a call from ringo - it doesn't affect him at all. He's also NOT in RRAC anymore - he's in the Rehab Center. Same place, different building. What a confusing place!!

Kettricken - The news report said it could take 3 - 4 days to search the entire prison which is to include metal detectors and strip searches of all prisoners so don't worry if you don't get that call on Thursday!

Thank you for the update ringoswife, my guy called me on friday incase this happened just to let me know not to worry if I didn't hear from him, he also called me monday the sweetie that he is ;)

I just sent my christmas card to him telling him if he could to call me on christmas eve and day to do so ... 'cause before I had just said christmas day ... so hopefully I will hear from him over the weekend, if not ... I know where he is, he's not going anywhere , hehehe ;)

but seriously, thank you for the updates ... I really appreciate it since I work alot and rarely watch the news, it means alot to have a support group and people who are concerned about getting information like this to me :)

I know it's probably not the most appropriate thought considering he is in a lockdown, but everytime I read that article and get to the strip search part all I can think about is him nekked ...

Oh my poor sweetie, I can't wait till it's done and he can call me again ... I'm super busy at work right now though, so I haven't had much time to let it get to me that I might not be able to talk to him over christmas ... :)

I called them and they are apparently still searching. Very guarded on answering questions though (Canadian pun). He did confirm to me that all inmates are ok and everything is peaceful there.

I called yesterday to see if my visitor forms have gone through yet, the guy I talked to was super helpfull and said it would be another couple days untill the lockdown was done ... unfortunately my visitor forms haven't gone through yet ... I'm gonna call again on friday, they are probably busy enough with the lockdown and aren't doing much else :P

Yeah their admin stuff is probably on hold and especially for approving new visitors. Hope you get good news on Friday.

Awww you hang in there girl. This can be a bad time of year for us and them. You just stay strong and there is lots of support here and other than that, keep yourself very busy. ((( hugs )))
