I wish I could say my hunny next stop is home but he Has to many days left for him to comehome from the minimum he is at. But hey at least a work release is alot closer than where we started this ride out at and if they let him come to a WR here in thse city he goes back to his regular job and well Richie his boss loves me LOL since I have stood by his friend and employee through this all. Which means I can sneak off and meet him for lunch and STUFF YEAH!!! Terry is in a minimum too THMU just outside the walls at McAlester. Best of luck on getting him home soon.

I have someone I am very very close to at Joseph Harp. Of all the prisons I deal with it has alot to offer and is one of the better ones.

LOL Terry know I even have our own site set up for the story of our family he knows about my support groups and is glad I have some one to help. But he gets jealous sometimes wondering if I spend mor etime talking to them about what I am feeling than I do him. So what ever you do make sure you still share your thoughts and feelings with him too.

Hi Tammy! Welcome to PTO. Eugenesgirl and I see alot of each other due to our husbands being @ the same prison. She is such a sweety and so is Eugene.

Tammy, there is a kid from our hometown that is at Joseph Harp. He was @ a minimum and decided to see what was down the road... :) Needless to say he is the same age as my son.

Once again welcome

Oh tell him? I will eventually! Ha

Get this. He has this Aunt in Ca. When I first got this computer I enter my cousins name to see what would come up. Well was I shock! Another cousin came popped up on a Family Tree Site, and there WE were!!
All four of us. And was I told? Nope. hehe

I mentioned this to James earlier and this letter I recieved back. He said that his Aunt had told him about it and asked for HIS permission to use Our pictures and names. Ha.

I called my Mom and I did for the first couple minutes was screech on the phone! LOL It was kinda funny but shocked.

Well, I e-mail the Aunt, and sent her updated phots of the Boys, and an updates photo of all of us together.
But I will tell him. But since there are a lot of people on this board he may know cause my name isnt all that popular.
hehe

Hello... I just want to say that my b/f is there at JHCC... He has less than a year left (been there 4) and he just signed his papers to get a transfer... don't know to where yet. Guess it takes 4-6 weeks to get transferred. He said they don't tell him where until right before he transfers out, for security reasons, I guess. Hopefully he will transfer someplace that treats him as good as he says JHCC personnel does. He said the inmates in there treat him pretty fair. How do they treat your guy? Has he said? Do you visit often?

Keep hanging in there and if you need ANY info at all, let me know and I'll see what I can find out. I go to visit just about every weekend, and on the holidays that are "free visit days."

Good luck to you both. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers...

*** Remember, man cannot take away what God wants you to have... Keep your chin up!

I have heard nothing but good things about Lexington I have been asking around for you. It has lots of programs for the inmates, the food is better than most places and I have been told their visitation is great and the staff fairly friendly and helpful. A guy with Terry just came back from there hetting his Heating and Air license and both him and his family wish he could go back even though it was further for them to drive.

Yes it is a great place for a prison. my friend has even gotten his degree in business and is able to take all kinds of college courses. He said the inmate store offers so much. He has told me some of the things, and I thought I wish every prison was like that.

On holidays they have special things for the kids. Like at Easter they had an Easter egg hunt and they do special things on Fathers Day and several other holidays.

The only thing that does suck is if you are long distance the phone calls are terrible. It runs almost 40.00 for 30 mins, but they have unlimtted calls. Once the 30 mins is up they can call you right back.

As far as fights and trouble there it stays pretty clean. It is what they call a program prison, so I have been told. They don't put up with anything, they just transfer you out, because they have many who would like to get into JH.

My phone calls arent too awful bad. It has been running around $9 and some change for the 30 minutes. They could be worse

Inmates call Joe Harp the "cadillac" yard. This is every prisoners dream yard. The best of everything. He's in good hands. I hope that he can get to John Lilley if thats where he's trying to get to? If so and I think I remeber that he is at Joe Harp "for a reason". Does he live in E unit. Then he needs to get with Holly Chandler when he gets to John Lilley and start the program.

yes he lives on e unit. he is hoping they move him to a facility closer to me. I am north of tulsa. He has said they are moving everyone to either Taft, Boley and he named one other one but i cant remember it.

I'm Barb. I have a son-in-law at JHCC in Lexington. He was supposed to be transferred to BJCC but has been told that there will be no space available there before his case comes up for review (in 4/2004).

Those of you with loved ones that have been there a while I would appreciate knowing where I can get further information about vocational programs, visitation, etc.

TIA

Barb,

Hello and welcome to PTO. Its good in away to see our Oklahoma family growing (good because of the added support but sad because so many families are in this situation.) I dont know much about JH specifically but hace been told by many it is one of the better ones for visits and that the inmates are well taken care of. I have several pages on my site about the OKDOC wide visitaion rules and such. It might help you out.

My son-in-law (Kevin) was transferred to BJCC this past Friday. Fortunately his cell mate at JHCC was kind enough to call my daughter and let her know.

Unfortunately, Kevin was able to call home Saturday but my daughter (Jessica ) was at the hospital, with the rest of my family, visiting my oldest girl and my new grandson. So...it will be another month before Jessica gets to talk to Kevin.

HI all! My name is Tammy and my hubby is at JHCC. I was just wondering if anyone else had a loved one there.
Hi Tammy, My name is Betty and my son is at Lexington for assessment and will soon go to JHCC. I am so new at this and I wrote you an email a few minutes ago but think I lost it before it 'sent'. If this is a duplication, please forgive me. But I have a question about visitation. How does it work? Is it just for a few minutes? and how often can they have visits. Also, is it really not air conditioned?

Betty:(
