I know in this forum there are many from ironwood and I dont hear to much about chuckawalla. So I just wanted to start a thread for any of us who have someone next door to ironwood. I get a little confused as I read the lovely ladies of ironwoods post thinking could they be talking about chucky so here I am with a thread of our own. I hope it will be as good and as helpful as there thread is to them. Thanks Ladies

My best friend is at Chucky's house. He is on the C yard. Tomorrow he will get off of 30 day c-status that has lasted 60 days. :yay: :yay: :hifive:
He gets out in the spring of '07. He was moved from the new Folsom. He hates every minute he has been there. Gym life is not for him.

I have had visits at chucky and when I go I get there about 8:00 am and the line inside is always long so maybe its a good idea to get there earlier. Chuckawalla is the first prison youll see and the second parking lot to your right is ours. Remember Ironwood is next door so you dont go to wrong prison. Once you get in go to the front and ask for a slip. Fill it out and go in first line. Next you have to sign in so there is another line to wait in. Then you can relax a minute till they call your number so you can be checked. Oh and coming in a guard will ask to see your ID and to look in your trunk. He will also ask you to roll down your back windows. Other than that visiting is nice there. I suggest you get to the vending machine right away cause they sometimes run out and the line gets so long. any more question just ask and id be happy to help.

 Hello:wave:
Chuckawalla is a pretty nice about the visiting
you can get there early and park in line with the rest that are going to Ironwood or chuckawalla (same line)when the prison opens you just follow the car in front of you and an officer will come by and ask if you are going to Ironwood in your case you would just say no, and he'll keep going down the line. Then the guards will ask you the good old Questions, you know about what stuff you might have in your car, that you shouldn't :p and if they feel they need to they ask you to pop open your trunk, for me they would ck my back of my SUV:D and at that time they ck your ID, after that you drive to the parkin lot for Chuckawalla and park and take only one key inside with you and $30.00 that has to be in ones or Quarters:thumbsup: I hope you know about the dress code on what you can and can't wear;) than you will walk inside the little building where they process everybody, just follow the running woman  :haha: :ha: :haha:
you will than get in one line where there get all your infor than give you a number and when they call your number you go to the counter and you can buy a picture ducket at that time they ck what your wearing and what you think your taking in:D :p the picture duckets are $2.00 each and you can have extra money for that:thumbsup: now you will pass through the metal detectors and pick up your stuff from the tray and walk to the gate they will open for you and close and wait for the next gate to open so you can walk to the visiting yard your loved one is at:thumbsup: I HOPE I have help you, let me or anyone else know if you need more infor:thumbsup:

oh yeah she is right about the vending machines while you wait for him to come out you should go ahead and get your food and set it on the table and get some drinks too, when the tables are all full there are chairs that are lined up against the wall and you can walk around I've seen couples do that the whole visit:eek:

Thank you ladies for all the useful information. I'm kind of familiar with the dress code, except that i'm not too sure about how strict they are about what you wear or how tight you wear it. By the way...do they make you take off your shoes there??? Well, I tried pulling up some directions using mapquest and i couldnt get exact directions. All I got was directons to Blythe...(2 different directions) Also, do any of you ladies have an idea how long it takes to get up there from san diego??? I'm planning on visiting my man this weekend or next and I would hate to drive up there for nothing. Can someone help with the confusion??? Oh yeah...how's the mail moving???

The "real" name is confined to quarters. Everything is limited. Yard, no phone, amount at store. He was a bad boy. Then at the end of the (30 days) time, he files a 602 to go to committee to get of the C-stat. So, he ended up being on (C-status) for 60 days. I guess it is better than the hole and having nothing at all.

Your posts are good to read, keep up the good work.

Well you are not alone my hunnie has been a bad boy the whole time he has been in there. Its so sad to because he should of been out by now. He went in when our son was only one month old and now hes 19 months and we still have some time to go before he makes it home. He was first in tehachapi amd was transfered because he was in that riot that happened over there. Then since then he has been in one fight as far as I know and now we just got our visits terminated cause he couldnt keep his hands off me and got to many warnings. I dont understand why its so hard for him to be good and I guess I never will our son is growing so fast and wheres his dad? I am very grateful for my sons nino and its kinda a weird situation cause he is actully my daughters father but hes a good guy and a good role model for my son and my hunnie knows that thats why we all get along so well and the reason we picked him to baptism our son.

Wow! Sometimes they just don't get it. Well, at least not for a long time. Some thing has to click in their head to make it all come together. My friend is 45 years old. He now is (finally) saying he will go to SAP and do as they ask him to do. He has been locked up since June 2001 (I think '01). Before that he did almost 10 years. Something has to jar their stubborn heads. You and your children are very lucky to have someone helping you through all of this. Lot's of people don't. I have been praying really hard for my friend to find his way. . . . maybe this is really it! I would like to visit someday. But, now is not the right time. God will open that door for me when it is suppose to open.

Wow Debbie you know my man is about to turn 30 next month and my mom always told me when hes in his thirtys he should start to settle down a little but maybe thats not going to happen. You say your friend is 45 years old and I just am rethinking what my mom told me. I guess you are right something has to click in there heads to make them relize there is so much more out here for them and I cant understand why certain moments like having our son wouldnt just make him want to do better. Its been his way of life for so long also. Growing up he spent his teen years in CYA and at 25 he was released and soon headed to prison. My opinion of CYA is they go threw so much in there that makes them so cold and so untrusting of everyone. And I hate that place for that. But I do pray as you do and I know God hears me. I believe there is a reason for everything and I just hope he does do whatever it takes to relize there is a life out here and a family out here that needs him. I hope the best for you and your friend and hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks Sherry. I'll plan to get there early. I'm sure someone will direct me to the appropriate place once I get there.
