Kicking meth a long, painful road
By ED KEMMICK

Marie tried getting off methamphetamine four times before she found a program, and a state of mind, that made it possible.
Those earlier stints included two private inpatient treatment centers, a "lockdown facility" and a military-style boarding school. After each treatment regimen, Marie relapsed almost immediately, going back to meth and alcohol and marijuana within days of her release.
The fifth time, she finally found a program that worked. More accurately, she finally enrolled in a program because she truly wanted to change her life, not because somebody else wanted her to.
