Does Any One Know Yet If And When The Epa Will Kick In Again?

My fiancee was just telling me that he heard there should be a "year end" EPA kickout.

I heard that the expanded epa was going to kick in. I was told jackets went up Nov.4th. Does anyone know anything about this or may have heard anything? (The yearly) EPA

The EPA will kick in on the last day of November and will start releasing people withing a few days thereafter. This is the 90 day EPA. They start with people that have already went to the board and made it also people that will be flat in the next 90 days are included in the first batch because this is less work for them. After these two groups have been exhausted then people whose home plans are not back but have been to the board and finally people who have yet to be to see the parole board! On the 1 year epa it should kick in whenever the county jail backlog exceeds 500 but that does not happen. The county jail backlog has been around 600 for the past two weeks. You must realize that this is all politics and they do things when it is easy for them. You can check the county jail backlog bu going to Arkansas.gov and doing an inmate search. Add up all inmates currently on the waiting list at each county.

Usually the people who qualify for these things are non-violent offenders. The 90 day EPA even 70% people qualify. The one year only non 70% non-violent offenders qualify.

Crisnclay - I wanted to find out more info about the 1 year EPA act and actually called ADC general information. They said that the 1 year EPA kickout is NOT being considered right now and there is no talk of considering it in the near future. The last 1 year EPA kickout was November of last year, but as of yet, it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon. They said it all depends on the backlog - haven't actually checked to see how much it exceeds myself - so who knows.

I called yesterday and was told that they are going to vote on the 90 day EPA today. Does anyone know how long (after it goes into effect) does it take for them to start releasing them?

Ususally within seven days. It will be quicker if they already have an approved home plan!

my husband has been in for a yr as of feb. and he didnt get 70% he is non violent offender so what does that mean for him? will he be able to get it or might he?:)

i talked to the parole lady at pine bluff and she said they are voting on a 90 day EPA on march 15th

do they have to be a certain class to qualify for the EPA?

My husband is at Brickeys (East Arkansas Regional Unit) and is there on a kidnapping charge and his t.e. date is Jan 5,2009. He has the 70% charge or whatever it's called on him....will he be able to do the epa thing or what because this is his 1st charge and only thing on his record? He also asked me to find out if there is something I can do to get him out early...he has 2 years and 8 months left. Can you please help me....thanks?

leslies_princes - Your husband is not eligible for the EPA due to the 70% and I don't know if kidnapping is considered a violent charge or not but violent offenders are also not eligible.

do you think that my husband might qualify for the EPA his PE/TE date is Nov 2007? That only if he doesn't go to boot camp. his charge is a non-violent crime. He went in March 2006. I download the EPA document of it's web site.

my boyfriend went in in march of 2006 and his te/pe date in 06/10/2007, he is a class 1 and non violent charge, would he qulify?? and did yall say the next one was coming up in Nov??

I don't know when the next EPA kickout is but unless it is the 1 year kickout (which doesn't come around very often), he will have to be within 90 days of his te/pe date.

That sounds about right.I have been told May and I was told June it depends on who you talk to.Will your husband be released early?

For the EPA in May or June, how long do they already have to be in and how close do they have to be to their parole eligibility date?

My son made class 1 this past week his date changed to 8-1-06.Hopefully if there is a EPA in June he will be in that one.

He Should Cause His Te Date Is June 14th But On June Second It Will Move Up Some Cause He Will Get His Class 1 Back,

Last Friday I spoke with someone at the parole board.They said that the current EPA expires May 27 and that they would vote on another around the first of June.My son got his class 1 2 weeks ago and his date moved up 18 days.His date is now 8/1/06.I thought it would move up a little more than that.HIs jacket goes up this weds.He should know by next Tues if his plan is approved.Which I just learned his probation officer will more than likely be his parole officer.

The 90 day epa kicked in on yesterday they back dated it for the 25th. Each facility already has there list and if there home parole plan has been approved they will probably be released within a week. My husband is scheduled to be home before next Friday. His te date is 8-22-06 he went before the board on April 26th. And believe it or not the guy that conducted the hearing actullay told us that day that he was recommending to the board he be released. So good luck to anyone else that's waiting to hear something..........

Gosh your quick! I am sooo ready for my son to come home .I know he has not been there long ,but in my opinon 1 week is too long.I have a nephew that is 35 and it looks like he is going to have to do some time.I really cant say anything about him.Saline county has been giving him chances since he was a teenager.His luck has run out.He has done 10 times worse than your husband or my son.They just kept on slapping that hand.Now here he is 35 with a bunch of kids.Thats the sad part.

In talking with the lady she stated this one will end on August 25th and the next one will start about 2 days after that.... That may answer your question.... It has been a long wait but for the most part it hasn't been really bad he only stayed in Newport for a month and a half and was sent to work release in Tex. which is about 30 miles from where we live and he has had furloughs so he gets to come home once a month and visits every Sunday from 12-4. I think the worst part was Regional Maintance before he went to work release. Keep your head up and continue to trust God.....

My son said Sat that a bunch left Varner this week.He was notified the day after I called the unit that he goes before the board June 27.They want to ask him a couple of questios about his crimes

One more question about the EPA. My bf is starting the SATP program which is 90 days or whatever and by that time hopefully they will do another kick out. He will qualify for the next kick out but he still might be towards the end of the program. Will they make him finish it or does it just all depend on if they think he has done well enough already or not?

as far as i know he will have to finish it before he can be considered for parole it is a mandatory program

They put my son into that program 2 weeks ago.He goes before the board June 27 his release date is Aug 1.On the Varner info they say it is a 30 day program.I talked with a guy last week I work with his wife they both have been out a year.They were both in for meth.She said she took it twice and anything else that was offered, on the other hand her husband said he was put in it 3 times never completed it was thrown out all 3 times.

Ok the next 90 day kick out with be the end of Nov. As far as the yearly goes.... DOC says Feb.07 but parole board says Nov.06 so who really knows?
