This may sound paranoid to some of you but just remember anyone with a computer and the internet can come on here and make theirselve comfortable listening and responding to our posts.

that is why i am a little concerned about putting our loved ones full names, addresses in posts-maybe we should email them individually to people we know well from pto-people can do a lot with a name, opus # and location

That is why nobody, but a very choice few knows PERSONAL things about EJ & I.
We all think that PTO could be safe from people possibly spying for DOC or for their own personal nasty gain, but like you said...it being the internet, NOBODY is safe!!

well i know that one of the guards that works with ant has been on here. it has made me more aware of what i say and just how i say it.. no real venting anymore.. i am just scarded to do it..

that is why i took my actually pic off the site.. it was fun at first but i really want to protect my privacy and his too..

The best thing though is to just use your nick name and don't put your loved one's name and inmate number. The system is so vast anyone would have problems matching the two unless it had a lot of notoriety.

I am going to make a post in the Site Suggestions & feedback area about a Private Area.. Ya'll take a peek and let me know what you think about the idea.

I think we should discuss and talk about subjects like they (DOC) was reading. Maybe they will learn something. Such as the prisoners they dispise have people that love and care about them. There are a rally of PTO people that will fight injustice and take care of business.

I have never said anything that would cause trouble or anything else so I am not gonna be watching what I say--this is a safe and special place to me I dont wanna lose that...:(

I have been with my support groups for 2 years now and Billy's never gotten into any trouble by what I post. So I'm pretty comfortable with posting what I do. However, I don't give out any personal information. If someone wants that information, I will e-mail it to them IF I know the person well enough.

basically it all comes down to common sense. remember this is a public site and what you post is public.

true...a private place would be comfi for some subjects, but like stated before, personal information can be requested by email or PM and then we can decide ourselves if we trust that other person to give the info to.

It could be that guests have limited access to the site, but you want them to browse to so they can join. Kind of hard decision, let's just hope nothing bad happens.

this is a public site and i feel it needs to stay public, if you are not comfortable posting something then do not do it like i have choose to do.. i will open back up after the hurt goes away. i am not afraid per say it is hurt that i do not like.. one day i will explain..

Hey Shortie, did something go on with you and someone on here--I hope not but it sounds like you ran into some trouble...??...It is easy to get very comfortable here because everyone seems very nice but we have to use our common sense..but not let fear keep us from being who we are.

If Shortie is in fact referring to something that happened here maybe it's a good idea to let others know to keep it from happening again?? Or maybe she would prefer not to divulge? Maybe the "hurt " to which she is referring has nothing to do with PTO? Either way I hope she will share w/ someone and let them carry some of the load.

I was wondering about that as well...I haven't been around here very long...but there are things that make you suspicious.

What exactly would the moles seek to accomplish? I mean, I don't think I'd publicize my full name and phone # or Eric's name and DIN #, and maybe if I had a job where I needed to be "respectable" I'd worry.
But I can't believe that, say, a CO from where he is would see me on here, figure it out, and give him a hard time.
I would hope any CO that came on here would leave with a lot to think about. As for government wonks, not sure they CAN think (just kidding moles! we luv ya!) but I am really not saying anything here I would not say wherever. If they try to set up a malicious prosecution against me (the locals I mean- I would not be the first) well, I am a reporter with some friends of my own and I'd like to think they will just reveal their own stupidity all the more.
None of this is meant to be advice to anyone- just reflections. But I guess my question would be- besides WHO are the moles, but WHAT are the moles????which species? Motivated how?

hswtch, trolls come on to sites all the time for no reason other than to make fun and cause drama. It is a game for them. Best thing is to keep all personal info in PM.
