Hi everyone! I'm Laurie and I was recently released from federal prison after serving 3 years of a 60 month sentence. I met Fed-X shortly after that and he introduced me to Prison Talk Online. I thought I would introduce myself and tell a little bit about how I ended up in prison.
About ten years ago I met a guy and we ended up moving in together. At first I didn't know that he sold drugs but eventualy he trusted me and told me about his business. Over the years he became more and more involved until one day the feds stepped in and arrested him. I hadn't been a part of his business but the feds thought I knew more that I did. He was sentenced to 135 months and after he was sent to prison they came and arrested me almost two years later! I never thought anything could happen to me because I was "just his girlfriend" but it turned out I was wrong! I didn't know anything about the conspiracy laws until I was indicted for them! After fighting the feds for two years on bond the inevitable was bound to happen... a prison sentence! Being in prison was the most awful experience of my life! I was put into an environment that I had never experienced before and never want to go back to again! I also found many women like myself in prison behind a man that sold drugs. The feds don't care about human lives they only want their numbers high! Many young women in this world today need to know about the conspiracy laws before it's to late like it was for me!!
I served 2 years at Federal Medical Center Carwell and 1 year at Federal Prison Camp Dublin. I was fortunate enough to be able to take the Drug Abuse Program and have some time taken off my sentence. I only have a few months left until I start probation and I will finally feel free! Even though I still have three years probation... I plan to do it right this time!!!
