I am printing it out now to read. I am ready for the state to start doing something other that sitting around doing nothing but talking about it (that was putting it politely)

ok...i have just started to read this and so far they haven't said what they are gonna do now to releave the overcrowding...everything i have read so far will takes months before we notice anything, if we notice anything at all.

i haven't had the chance to read it the whole thing, but at first glance I don't see anything new, except I think i seen something about building a new prison, I'll have to take the time to read it this afternoon...surely goodness 2006 will be the year of change for the ADOC and their years and years of overcrowding issues...

Yeah, it said something about building a new prison other than that nothing new....I hope that 2006 is the year of DOC changes too..

They need to hire more people in the victim notification unit. How many people do you know that are eligible or soon will be eligible for parole that are waiting on this department to notify victims and theyre what 10-12 months behind.If they could process these people that would eliminate a lot of the overcrowding. I know someone that was supposed to go up 8 months ago and he just found out the victim in this case died several years ago and his hasnt got a blemish on his record

Ok what I got from this article is: Make parolees pay more, Make inmates work more, and build more beds. This is what took 4 years to come up with? What a bunch of morons.

I for one hope they get rid of that stupid habitual offender act and I pray that this is the year for a change...
