Those in IRR, when you see other IR couples, do you look at them [sorta in an acknowledging you have something in common manner], yet afterward wonder if woman in the couple mistook your look for staring at them?

View Full Version : A Question About IR couples looking at other IR couples HeSoHandsome 12-11-2005, 05:20 PM Those in IRR, when you see other IR couples, do you look at them [sorta in an acknowledging you have something in common manner], yet afterward wonder if woman in the couple mistook your look for staring at them? somissingmylove 12-11-2005, 06:47 PM We are the only inter-racial couple at our visitation I think. I haven't seen anyone else yet. But if I did look, I probably would think that maybe she thought I was checking him out. Mostly I am the one getting looks, but I never pay it any attention. There is one female CO that gives a such a hard time every time she is working. mrschris 12-12-2005, 01:25 PM no...i don't pay other couples much attention, unless there is something especially wrong with them...ie., especially ugly, loud, rude, goofy, etc. i think i watch all couples equally...mainly because i've ALWAYS been a people watcher. and no...once i'm done watching them, i never care one way or the other what they thought of me looking (even though most times they never even realize i am looking). e_wife03 12-12-2005, 04:11 PM I dont look at another Ir couple cause they are an IR couple .. i look at them just to be looking at them .. I feel that an IR relationship is just like a couple of the same race.. everyone got to deal with something in their relationship.. I feel as though if you look at them just to acknowledge the fact that yall both are dating outside the race is just showing that you are looking for approval in some way that your relationship is ok.. lyteeydlwyr 12-13-2005, 12:36 PM no...i don't pay other couples much attention, unless there is something especially wrong with them...ie., especially ugly, loud, rude, goofy, etc. i think i watch all couples equally...mainly because i've ALWAYS been a people watcher. and no...once i'm done watching them, i never care one way or the other what they thought of me looking (even though most times they never even realize i am looking). in other words, you are nosey like me!! He's mexican and some of the other hispanic women there visiting people make comments, never loud enough to bring it to my attention, but one time while me & his mother went to visit him, some of them we're making comments to her about me (not knowing we were there together) and his mom told them, I'd pick la guerita anyday ofver any of you.. :p Aww...made me feel better. So yeah, most of the time I'm like...and? yes I'm white, no he's not....NEXT! debbie nj 12-31-2005, 02:25 AM im a good looking white girl i used to be a guy lol if only those stupid white guys knew lol kreepsgirl 01-06-2006, 12:47 PM I dont stare at other couples but the IR couples do happen to catch my attention more than others just because I am also in one. lyteeydlwyr 01-06-2006, 01:33 PM im a good looking white girl i used to be a guy lol if only those stupid white guys knew lol Huh?????????????? mrschris 01-06-2006, 03:36 PM Huh?????????????? she had surgery and now she is no longer a male. she's also in an interracial relationship (i think her hubby is black)...and she's saying that if only the white guys that stared at her during visits knew she used to be a man they'd probably be like  lol. btw...OFF TOPIC, but: where are you at missy??? let me know! lyteeydlwyr 01-09-2006, 09:35 AM she had surgery and now she is no longer a male. she's also in an interracial relationship (i think her hubby is black)...and she's saying that if only the white guys that stared at her during visits knew she used to be a man they'd probably be like  lol. btw...OFF TOPIC, but: where are you at missy??? let me know! Good Lord!! I'm not even going to go there. Guess she hasn't seen the Law & Order: Trial by Jury episode where...well, never mind. Ms. Lane 01-13-2006, 11:30 PM I'm a white woman and Damon is a black male and I love looking at other IRR couples and I feel that I do have something in common with them. When they see me looking at them, I smile back to them in gesture like we're equal. I love holding Damon's hand and looking at our skin color and how I think our colors look so good together. I love looking at mixed children, they are beautiful and I see how they have the best of both worlds and I think that they are very lucky children for being mixed but I know they tend to have it harder being mixed but in my mind they are special. Don't get me wrong my daughter from a previous relationship is white and I think she is beautiful because she is apart of me, the child I gave birth to and I would never think less of her because she isn't mixed. When I see IRR couples I think of the past how it wasn't the right thing to do by mixing races and I am so glad that time has changed and we are able to love who ever we fall in love with. I wonder about how Martin Luther King would feel seeing whites and blacks being able to love one other when during that time it wasn't allowed. I think Martin Luther King is one of the Greatest strong men that has ever lived and I wish he was here to see how things turned out. G's Sunshine 01-24-2006, 10:26 PM Funny you mention Dr. King. I too admire his strength and peaceful dignity. but as we celebrated his day I wondered what he woudl think of our "family" in which the white brother and sister hold the hands pf their black brother and sister. literally! brooksangel 02-20-2006, 09:42 AM Yes, I do worry they may mistake it my looks for stares. I think it's beautiful. Hope4US 02-22-2006, 05:53 AM Please, the last thing I wanna do when I go to see my man is stare at another couple. And no I don't give other IRR couples "stares of acknowledgement". It's not like we're in some sort of secret exotic society. After all, at the end of the day we are all human beings. HeSoHandsome 02-22-2006, 11:50 AM Hope, I'm not talking about starring, that's what the people in the IRR talk about and start threads about. My thread is about having something in common with others and do you give a look {NOT DO YOU STARE, WHICH IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE} of acknowledgement when you see that common. I also don't know where all the "we're all human at the end of the day" thing comes from as if there's some second choice in addition to being human. I have not ever had an occasion to say "I'm human" or "at the end of the day I'm human" and that's because it's a given. I mean what else would or could any human possibly be?? Based on some responses here, some women read and received my opening post exactly as I relayed it, which says alot about you because you didn't read all kinds of other stuff into it, but that you just kept to what I asked. Thank you for your honesty. tiaslove2 02-23-2006, 08:00 AM Ok being that last weekend was my first time seeing my man in person and being in the visiting room. I was just looking around to see who was coming out to see who while I was waiting on my man. This one girl who on the outside of the visiting room seemed like a prude to me with her nose up in the air she was a blonde, I was in so much shock to see that her man was a black man with dreds and the hole nine yards right. I think in my visit over 50% were irr couples and we didn't look at each other funny at all. Well I don't think so but I did seem more comfortable once I seen how many of us were irr. I was the only black woman with a latino man and I am sure that someone was shocked. Cinco's lady 02-23-2006, 10:02 AM I was the only black woman with a latino man and I am sure that someone was shocked. It's amazing how ignorant some people can be at times, at least you had a nice visit with your papi ;) ~Liz MrsSuzukiGSXR 02-23-2006, 08:45 PM OMG~ that sounds like us! As you can see I am naturaly blond with blue eyes I am Hispanic and when I was younger my Ex was locked up and he is hispanic and I used to get the same looks and comments. On a nother thred on a IR question about what do you check for your childs race some one put human. I just feel when you respond in that manner you are over doing it. My child is half black with 3 older very lite hispanic brothers. Look to answere the Qustion . Beleave it or not I get more stares from the IR couples than any one and I always felt that it was in a bad way but you made me think maybe they were just looking for a alye or how ever you spell that word lol. You go girl I like you already. Cinco's lady 02-24-2006, 07:18 AM Well this is life, and I'm always gonna have someone hate on me for one reason or another... just brush it off and keep my head up is all I do... and thats my advice to everyone else also~ Cuz this blue eyed girl is gonna love her papi regardless~ :p Liz HeSoHandsome 02-24-2006, 08:36 AM You know MrsSuzukiGSXR, regarding the hispanic thing I'm not sure if it's a blonde thing or what. I say that because I've noticed something when I watch the videos. When I look at the black videos there are always women of different races in them but when I look at the hispanic videos on BET and MTV all of the females are always only hispanic. I don't know what to make of that, I just find it interesting. Cinco's lady 02-24-2006, 10:44 AM . I say that because I've noticed something when I watch the videos. I don't know what to make of that, I just find it interesting. Yeah, thats a good point too... ALWAYS have hispanic women sola. But mostly I notice this in the types of music also. I mean a lot of hispanic videos on TV are songs about thier culture, and so on. But the contemporary videos, they have other races of women... Not necessarily Intocable or something like that :p, but the 'urban' videos even some of the reggaeton videos have white/black/hispanic women in them... as long as they're built the way they want them to be in the video (big boobs, big nalgas, etc) :) I just haven't seen a lot of white women built like that that are in videos... but there are some out there  |
