Here's my situation - when it is around the time for my fiance to get paroled, I plan on moving out of my current living situation and plan on renting a place where we will both live.

My questions are,

How long before his actual parole date do I need to find a place so they can approve the plan and he will be eligible to parole out to me?

-AND-

What are people's experiences with finding places for rent that will accept felons (he is NOT a sexual or violent offender)??

Hunt's-girl, as long as you've got a place by the time his parole hearing then you should be ok. I don't see why there would be any problem with him paroling out to you. As far as the other question about finding places that will accept felons, i've got no clue. Hope that helps a bit anyway and good luck. When his parole date? Keep us posted.

Thanks for the info peaches. His p.e./t.e. date is not for another 11 months, but I'm just trying to get everything in order so I'll be prepared by then. I guess I'll get the apartment around 5 months before his date and just try to stop stressing about it. I just don't want anything to go wrong. :)

How is everything going with you peaches?

You're welcome Hunt's-girl. I completely understand about being prepared. As long as you have an apartment in place by the time he submits his parole plan with an address etc then you (and he) should be fine. I can relate to the fact that you don't want anything to go wrong.

Things with me are going alright. Just waiting till my fiancee's votech hours are complete and the last date he gave me for a "final date" with votech is mid June '06 so i'm hoping there aren't any other complications like there have been in the past. Just waiting and waiting, like everyone else.

Hope you have a Merry Christmas!!!!

Thank you Hunt's-girl. It's tough to have someone in prison. I wish you and your husband the best as well.
