Hello. I need some help. I am a 27 yr male and was convicted in May of 2004 for a theft charge. I was sentenced to 7 years TDC and now have been appealing my sentence but with no luck. (This was a 3rd felony, and I don't have a prior criminal record) and I still ended up with a 7 year sentence?

I was wondering if anybody can tell me what the credits are given in the Gregg County Jail. Is it 2 for 1 or is it 3 for 1?

Also, I heard that there is a long wait to be entered into TDC and most are kept in the county jail for several months. I was wondering if I have to serve at least 1/4 of my sentence which is 21 months/84 months and if I was given 3 for 1 credit in the county jail then could i be released from there after 7 months of the county jail?

Is there anything I can do to where I can stay and fo my time in the county jail instead of TDC?

PLEASE HELP!!! :)

Shawn

Sounds like you may need to call your lawyer and ask him.I'm in smith county. My man was convisted of aggrivated robbery two counts. He will have to serve at least half his sentence to be eligible for a visit to the parole board.Im my loved ones case. His time in smith county was credited to his sentence. In other words the days in county counted!!
