I dont really understand your question. I went to visit my husband yesterday where the made the revelation that the jail nurse told him that he has TB. This is news to both of us. He did not take her seriously, and I shrugged it off when he told me thinking they just stuffed up again, but now I am thinking what if it is true? He has only been in for a few weeks.

I know this is old....but my man just got the same diagnosis. They are checking to see if it is active or dormant. Until then he can't work.

How did you make out?

I'm not exactly sure what TB is

TB...tuberculosis, is a bacterial infection that is very contagious. In the hospital, they are put in isolation, and personnel have to wear gowns and a special filter mask.
How is TB spread?
TB is spread through the air from one person to another._ The bacteria are put into the air when a person with TB disease of the lungs or throat coughs or sneezes._ People nearby may breathe in these bacteria and become infected.
When a person breathes in TB bacteria, the bacteria can settle in the lungs and begin to grow._ From there, they can move through the blood to other parts of the body, such as the kidney, spine, and brain.
TB in the lungs or throat can be infectious._ This means that the bacteria can be spread to other people._ TB in other parts of the body, such as the kidney or spine, is usually not infectious.
People with TB disease are most likely to spread it to people they spend time with every day._ This includes family members, friends, and coworkers. If there is any question, you should see your doctor and be tested..as well as all family members.

MY fiance was tested when he was put into Warren County on October 24, and it was negative. He was then transferred to Erie County tested once and they told him he was just allergic to the syrum they mixed with the other stuff. But then they tested him again and said that he HAS-TB- but its not active. It made him worry and when he told me..i almost cried. He told me at a visit and as soon as i got home i looked everything i could up about it online and sent him some of the things i printed out..we haven't heard anything more about it. It's not like he doesn't already have enough health problems this burden is put on his (our) shoulders. I don't exactly trust the jail for their conclusion, so i dunno what to think.. I was tested for TB when i got locked up on October 3 in Warren County and they said i didn't have it. After i got out on October 9th, i was with Matthew everyday..should i be retested at the DR?

I know this post is really late.... but I was looking for something about TB on PTO because my fiance' wrote me and after completing his diagnostics, he was informed that he and every other inmate transfered to the GDCP had contracted TB. Most of them have the dormant type. Chris has dormant TB but they told him that when he got out he would need to see a doctor for regular treatment. So I take it they don't do anything while these guys are in there to make sure they are ok???
