View Full Version : Hello All - Son in Madison County Jail
sierrasryder 12-06-2005, 01:32 PM Hi everyone - My son is in the Madison County Jail awaiting a court date for manufacturing meth. This is like our worst nightmare. Hubby and I just can't believe he got involved in this. He's been in jail for two months now and we just found out he will not be getting a bond.
I have been reading PTO for several months now and can't help but see how helpful and compassionate everyone here is. What a wonderful place. I am grateful there is a place where I'll be able to learn "the ropes" and to have friends that will understand my anger, sadness, and all the other feelings that go along with having a loved one in jail/prison.
Hugs, Linda

baldwinlady 12-06-2005, 05:32 PM Linda Welcome to the PTO...I also have a son (22yrs) he is in Ventress. 'm sure you will find alot of support here, lord knows I have. It's been a long road, and I know I would have lost it by now if I didn't have "my Friends" at the PTO. Feel free to send me a PM anytime, I know how hard it is being a mother.
God Bless,
Linda
sierrasryder 12-06-2005, 07:38 PM What a wonderful welcome - thank you all so much! I think I'm going to feel very much at home here with all you great people. Ya know, when I held my *baby* in my arms 35 yrs ago, I never thought he could break his Dad's and my heart like he has. Why is it so painful to be a mother?? I appreciate all your friendliness and if there is anything I can do for any of you, please don't hesitate to ask. I guess we're all in this together, huh?
Hugs, Linda

oh yes, we are indeed all in the same boat per say, not a nice place to be but we do make it. I'm sorry that you're having to go thru this, but i'll tell you what kenny has told me for years, prison saved his life in so many ways, of course it hasn't all been pleasant, but he's alive, he's clean and sober and has all the tools need to live a good life..so you hang in there and hang around here too..
take care
denise:)
sierrasryder 12-11-2005, 09:46 PM Thank you Denise. As much as I hate Mike having to be incarcerated, I really believe it's going to be the best thing for him at this time. He says he's ready to do his time then start a new life without drugs and all the baggage that goes along with it. We'll be waiting for him with open arms.
Thank you again for your kind welcome :)
Hugs, Linda

seansgram 12-16-2005, 09:20 PM Welcome to PTO, here you will find everything you need.
chasinrylen 12-22-2005, 10:32 AM Hi linda,
My husband is at Ventress, he pled guillty to manufacturing of meth. It was his second drug felony and he got a sweet deal of a 15 split 2 sentence. It is a sweet deal because it carried a 25-life sentence if he took it to trial and lost, so we consider ourselves lucky. And he gladly took the deal.
We are like many people here and think that prison has saved his life. he was on a path that would have killed him, eventually. He is currently in the SAP program at Ventress and he says he is learning alot about his addiction to drugs. I have seen an incredible change in his addititude, all positive.
Keep fighting for that bond, if that is what you want for him. Because it may be a year or two before they take him to trial or even offer him a deal. We had a state appointed lawyer and he worked really hard for us!!
It isn't always easy for him or me, but he is where he is suppossed to be right now.
Two days ago I got a letter to my daughters from him, apologizing for all that he said and did to them. That was a big step in the right direction for him. And for our family.
Just put him and all your worries about him in the Lord's hands and it will all be OK.
If you need anything, just ask. We have all been where you are at right now.
