I just wanted anyone that visits here that I had my first Friday night visit. I was probably 6 or 8 in line, but even despite the wait, and the fact that they didn't let anyone in until about 5:15 - my man was the first there and our visit was ended at 7:00 p.m. It was sad b/c we had just eaten dinner and was having our ice cream (which we had created into a blizzard with m/ms and heath bar), but we convinced the visiting guard to allow him to finish the ice cream blizzard, which I was thankful for.

Don't get me wrong, it was a great visit and no body was rude and when I walked out into the visiting reception area, there were people waiting to see their loved ones. It is a small visiting area and it is only fair that everyone gets to see their loved one after driving whatever distance.

I just wanted to forewarn anyone who visits there, because that has never happened to me before.

I know exactly what you mean!! My very first visit to my fiancee ever while he was incarcerated was on a Friday night at DCF and I was not prepared to have to leave early, even though I thoroughly understood why they had to cut us short. I was devastated and I put the heat on Shahan to get his level 3 and 4 so that we could have Saturday and/or Sunday visits. Ever since we've crossed that hurdle, it has been drastically improved. Sometimes there are only three or four other people there during the whole visit.

If you can make it on a Saturday or Sunday--I definately recommend doing that, or at least shooting for it. If not, hang in there...there will always be the occasional time when it isn't so horribly crowded.

I almost died when I could only see Tony on Friday evenings or Thursdays cuz I ALWAYS got told I had to leave! I drive over 3 hours to get there. I now go on Saturday Evening or Sunday Evening and have had NO problems at all. Saturday evenings there is usually maybe 10 of us! :)

i go to holdenvillle too and yes that does happen, especially on fridays, dont know why that happens but it does. We hjave been down at holdenville for the last 4 1/2 years. i also do a prison ministry and its wonderful.
