I was wondering if anyone has had any experience's with getting a emergency visit? My hubby is in a work center that is almost 200 miles away. His Grandparent's are not expected to live past Christmas. Right now they are in the hospital again. Different hospitals in different counties. We have finally decided if he is ever going to see them he needs to do so now. Is it easier to get a emergency visit in the hospital or at their home with hospice in attendence? Any other family members allowed to be in attendance also? If any one out there has any info please let me know.

Stormy, from what I've seen this one is different from facility to facility. And even then it can be different from month to month. My best advice would be to start at the warden and see if there's any channels he's willing to start you on there. If not, call your local state representative and try to get their help and then just keep working through the system.

When Jeff's Dad wasn't expected to make it, his family got the help of their representative to get the prison to allow a special visit to the home w/hospice. They would have had to pay for transport/security and no family members could be present. The "victim"/ex-wife heard about it and said she was afraid for her safety so they canceled it at the last minute. But they did allow him to make a video tape message that his Mom picked up to bring home. It wasn't the same, but at least it was something. So that may be a last resort to try. Best of luck with it and don't give up hope :grouphug:
