hello. ex heroin addict of nearly 20yrs. clean since 1986 and living productive and NORMAL life. never been happier. you can find love joy peace success and laughter in abundance after drugs and crime. in fact changing is the only way you will ever find happiness and self respesct. so anybody out there who is trying to come of drugs believe me i know how hard it is, but it happens every day. theres loads of ex addicts in the world who have put it all behind them. best of luck to you all.:)

Glad to have you with us. Good Job... It takes a lot of courage and determination to fight a drug addiction and come back from it in one piece...... I am very proud you were able to kick this habit especially while in prison... Not too many people are able to acomplish that.

I was tempted myself on many occasions to try a few things.. To me, an escape on the inside is much more appealing than one on the outside.. Prison is no fun and when you have dope all over the place and little in the way of entertainment.. well.. you can imagine how you might say "what the hell"..
Fortunately, I never did.. but I know a whole lot of guys that ended up being a "jail house turn-out" in regards to doing heroin.

Good to meet you. Congratulations on your nearly 20 years, that is fantastic. My son has been an addict since the age of 13 and he is now 27. He got through his last bit clean but lasted only a few months on the outside. Went off on the crack, robbed a bank and is back down for another 6 years. It gives me hope to read posts such as yours and I thank you for being here.
