From Pacific Institution/Regional Treatment Centre Visits And Correspondence
Contraband and/or unauthorized items when arriving by mail or delivered in person:
Stickers/Labels
Stamps, envelopes, writing paper
Musical cards
Books/magazines/calendars
Feathers/dried flowers, etc.
Telephone calling cards, credit cards, etc.
Unknown substance
Articles that violate copyright laws (photocopy or recorded items)
Anything glued on
Poloroid photos/photo albums/negatives
Sexually explicit photographs
Address books
Jewelry
Pencils, Pens, sharp objects
Cds/Cassettes
Visitor Handbook Page 9: "Inmates are not allowed to receive gifts or other articles through the mail without proper authorization in advance. If anything is received, the items will be returned to sender, postage due.?
Any item that is to be retained by the inmate in his cell can only be admitted to the institution within 30 days of an inmates' arrival and must be processed by Admissions and Discharge Department as per Commissioner's Directive 090. Permissible exceptions include store-purchased greeting cards (non-musical), photographs not listed above and magazines ordered and approved through the ITF process.
All monies received by mail will be put into the inmate's savings account as per Commissioner's Directive 580 and a receipt will be sent to the inmate.
