i don't know the details....but i just wanted to let you all know that the whites and hispanics on sierra yard at CCC SUSANVILLE are on lockdown. i went to visit my boyfriend today and luckily he is on lassen yard, but i saw them turn away quiet a few people.....:angry:

NO NO NO....lock down is NOT the same as the hole. the hole is protective custody, or SHU....and lock down can be caused by many different things, most common is riots.

yes...you can tell what yard they are on by the address on the envelope. after the cdc #, there should be a letter and a number and then a hyphen or a slash and then another number and another letter....for instance.....L6-164L...

i believe it means that he is on cascade yard...which is good if he is. that measn that he is NOT on lockdown!!! the C stands for Cascade, L stands for Lassen, and S stands for Sierra. if it reads like this...... C6-164u....that means cascade yard, dorm 6 - bunk 164, upper level.

I have not had a Christmas with my son for 5 years.

I will pray for your son, it always hurts not knowing what is happening to a loved one especially when they are in a place like prison. i pray for my son's father everyday, that he will come home safe to our son. ;)

i will definately pray for your son!!! i am sure that he is alright. i'm sorry that you didn't get a call on thanksgiving! i know that my man called me on wednesday and we were so deep in conversation that i totally forgot to wish him a happy thanksgiving!! OMG, i felt soooo bad! do you have the ability to go and visit with your son??? if so, maybe you can go on christmas! that is an exception visiting day for the inmates!!!

don't thank me...i do what i can!!! i am happy to know that your man is not on lockdown either. i don't think my man has been on lockdown yet!!! but it's pretty inevitable that it will happen and when it does, i'm curious to see how i react to it all:mad:. i just called the prison right now and they said that they are still on lockdown. i will call again tomorrow and keep you all informed!!!!

i have not been able to go and see my son since he has been to susanville. I will probably not get to go now until the weather is better. I dont know how to drive in the snow and wont attempt it.
His Birthday is Dec. 13, well thats the day of the planned execution for Tookie is and they will more than likely be on lockdown then also. Maybe the Gov. will have a heart.
I am really hoping that they will get off of lockdown soon, I really dont know how long they usually are on.
Maybe we will not have a hard winter and I will get to go see him.

well, from my understanding, lockdown is a disciplinary action taken towards inmates when something goes wrong or gets out of hand. when a lockdown occurs, NO VISITS ARE ALLOWED!!! the inmates are also stripped of their privaledges to make phone calls....they do not have any yard time....HOWEVER, they do still recieve mail and are able to send mail out. sometimes, lockdowns cause mail to run MUCH SLOWER than normal, which is kinda hard to believe that the mail can RUN SLOWER...it's slow enough already!!!!

ASU = Administrative Segregation Unit....which means that the inmate is NOT a part of the prisons general population. it is basically a sort of "lockdown" status.....:mad:

Its not the lockdown that bothers me, but the act that lead to the lockdown, if it was caused by violence. I know that sometimes they get locked down for other reasons but when you hear that its the Hispanics and the Whites than you only can think it was because of rioting. I know that things are going to happen in prison and I prepare myself for news like this. Meaning no phone calls, no mail, no visiting (even thought I have not been able to) If they would just let them call so we would know that they are alright. I stand in a prison beside my son. Him on the inside, me on the outside. We are only seperated by bars.

I know exactly what you mean!!! it's hard to think that our loved ones are in there having got in trouble for whatever it is that they did, and they still can't manage to keep their P's and Q's in check!!! i wish that segregation could stop, however we really have no say in what goes on in THEIR HOME!!! i was talking to my man at visit on saturday and he was telling me that he doesn't want to fight nobody, just do his time and get it over with. but he told me that if he was in a room and a riot popped off between the whites and hispanics (for example) he would HAVE TO join in with the whites, or else the whites would come after him!!!:angry: all i have to say is....NOT FAIR TO OUR GUYS OR US, WHO'S GUYS ARE TRYING TO DO RIGHT BY EVERYTHING AND JUST SIMPLY DO THEIR TIME!!!!

They are expected to act in a certin way by their piers. And I know that he would have to defend the whites just because he is white. My husband was in Tracy State back in the late 60's and he said that he was very glad that he was locked in his cell when that riot broke out.
I just hope that maybe he (may son) was not caught in the middle of something wrong. And I hope that nobody was hurt (if it was for rioting).
My son should not even be on that yard, it is a medium yard and he only has 2 points he should have been moved to a minimum yard. I really am going to be mad if this gives him more points. Of course I dont even know if he was involved with anything. He is such a little guy. I fear for him. The only comfort I have is that I know that he gets along with people.
Well I can only wait for his call. I think that the calling system there stinks to.

oh dear, don't thank me!!! i am here for you! whenever! i will pray for you and for your son, and for anybody else who was involved in whatever happened that caused that yard to go on lockdown! everything will be alright! i am going to see my man in 2 days so i will make is a point to ask him if he heard anything about what took place. he will tell me if he DOES know anything! it's strange, my man is a level 3 and he has been at ccc for almost 3-4 months now and there has not been a riot since, or a lockdown! watch, my luck...now that i said that, it will happen:blah:. it's great that your son gets along with people! that is very important. my man told me that he gets along with people also, but when it comes to guys that have his back, there are only 2 guys that are from our area here, so that makes him pretty uncomfortable. but, you just have to remember, it's survival of the fittest in there, and they have to do what they have to do!!! but i will pray for you both........and MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS!!!!

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!!!!!! sierra yard is now off of lockdown as of TODAY!!! i spoke with a guard and i asked why they were on lockdown in the first place and he did indeed say that it was becuz of a small riot that broke out between the hispanics and the whites (obviously). but yeah, ONCE AGAIN, SIERRA YARD IS NOW OFF OF LOCKDOWN AS OF NOV. 30 so lets get some calls ladies!!!!!!! here's my call dance for YOU ALL:dance: :dance: :dance: :dance:

I cant thank you enough for all of the information shared on this site !! I have a question... I see you referring to CCC/Susanville. My man is at High Desert/Susanville. So, are there 2 facilities there? Im on the east coast and not familiar with the area. Does anybody have any info lockdown at HDSP? He told me a couple of weeks ago that they are on lockdown again !!! I would love to plan a visit, but they no longer get off lockdown until they are on it again !! I know he is level 4 and that sorta says it all !!! ANY INFO would be appreciated. Also, if anybody has a loved one there as well, I would love to correspond. Thanks!!

hey girl!!! no prob with the information!!! my PLEASURE! as for your question...YES, there are 2 facilities there in susanville. one is CCC and the other is High Desert State Prison (HDSP). they are literally NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS!!! when i am driving on the road to the prison, if i DON'T go left on the road to CCC, i will be heading right into HDSP!!! CCC is NOT a level 4 prison, HDSP is!!! as far as lockdowns for that prison go, i am not sure cuz i don't go visit there, but here is the number to the prison (530) 251-5100. if you call there, i'm sure you can find out what the lockdown status is of any yard!!! so you are from the east huh? well, if you EVER head down this way, let me know and maybe we can get together for coffee. i only live 1 hour from susanville so........well, you are in my thoughts and prayers and i wish you and your man the best of luck!! feel free to PM me anytime!!!:o
