It took about two weeks for me to get the first call. But a girl on this website who goes by "Sleepy and Happy" can give you the number and counsler extension. Ask the counsler on the 911 and see if you have one with a heart. But give it about two week for a phone call. Good Luck

My brother was also transfered to Centinela from Chuckawalla. He has been there since the 15th and still have not received a call. I went to visit him on Thanksgiving day and was only allowed 1 hour behind glass because they told me he had not been classified yet, which really sucked. He was classified at chuckawalla and we had regular visits there. Centinela is a stupid prison filled with stupid CO's I will post here when I do hear from him. It will be 2 weeks on Tuesday that he will have been there.

It depends where you are coming from. I live in San Dimas and I took the 10 East past Indio and then take the 86S to the town of Westmoreland. When you come to the first 4 way stop in Westmoreland make a right hand turn then travel about 15 miles to a stop sign that is Evan Hewes highway, make a right here. Then go through the town of Seeley and then about 5 miles later you will see a sign saying State Correctional Institute. Turn right on Brown Road and drive into the prison. Probably about 2 miles.

He should be able to call after he is classified. It use to be about 10-14 days but it seems to be taking longer these days.

HELLO!:) IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY ( ITS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I LAST WENT ), YOU KEEP STRAIGHT ON HWAY 86S UNTIL YOU HIT WESTMORELAND AT WHICH YOU'LL THEN MAKE A RIGHT, KEEP GOING STRAIGHT UNTIL YOU HIT BROWN ROAD THEN YOU'LL MAKE A RIGHT, GO STRAIGHT AND YOU CAN'T MISS IT, YOU'LL SEE SIGNS ABOUT THE PRISON. ONCE AGAIN, I'M NOT TOO SURE BUT HERES THE NUMBER WHERE YOU CAN CALL AND THEY WILL THEN GIVE YOU DIRECTIONS, 760-337-7900.

The 86S exit sign is just before the Trump Casino. If memory serves me correctly it does say exit to El Centro.

When you hit Westmorland (it is just a very small town along the highway). you will pass a couple of gas stations on your right and you will see a Circle K gas station on the left corner. It's at that stop sign you go right. A little way down the road yu will pass the post office and the police station so you know you are going the right way. The Ewan Hewes (spelling?)road is easy to miss, though it is a four way stop (again use to be) . If you keep going you will hit the 8. You can head back or take the 8 West and get off at Dunaway. Then take a right on Ewan and a short way down you will hit Brown Road. Again it is not well marked and I have seen lots of people overshoot it on their first visit.

Finally received a call from my brother. I did not speak to him but this was the first call he has been able to make since he arrived at Centinela on the 15th. So it took 2 full weeks.

10 east "indio and other desert cities"
86s I'm pretty sure it says El Centro or Brawley(about an hour drive before the J30)
The first little town where there is a four way stop with the Circle K on the left you will turn right. This is Junction 30. Take J30 until you come to the only four way stop (about 10-15 miles) Evan Hewes Highway. You'll start to see the signs. Prison 9 miles then 3 miles then it will be on the right hand side, a stop sign is there and this is Brown Road. And there you go . Park behind all the cars on the right and wait for the CO escort. Or if there are no cars the parking lot is probably is open. Good Luck.
