I don't send there but I would think you could send a book as often as you like.

As far as I know, only one book at a time. I don't think there is a limit on how many books he can recieve total, but only one book per envelope.

are all the prisons the same on this? If they are than its one book per envelope.

Hi Qwerty,

I called about a month ago to the mail room to ask that same question, its 40 stamps at a time, so that would be two books, or 40 stamped envelopes, and 200 sheets of paper.

I heard it was 20 that's why I called, I sent them and he got them ok (40 envelopes) but it's the same for stamps.

funnyface09,

you're welcome, I didn't know they were new rules, I'm pretty new at all this prison stuff, so I called to make sure, but like I said, my guy got them ok and i sent him 40 stamped envelopes and 200 sheets of paper. He was in the hole at the time, but I was told it's the same for the ones who aren't ad-seg, a friend of mine sent her husband two books of stamps and he got them ok as well, he's not ad-seg. But my boyfriend isn't either (anymore) =)

How is the mailroom at PVSP anyway? Does it take forever for mail to reach the inmate?

Cheetoes, it really varies... some weeks it gets right in there, then in the last couple months it was sloooow.

PV officials have admitted there is a serious staff shortage lately.... they have even been on partial lockdowns because of it. I hear a lot of staff went to the new Delano prison, and the new mental health facility in Coalinga.
