I was going to just not go to chat for a while, but after receiving a couple of PM's from friends asking why I haven't been there, I have decided to tell everyone WHY..... If I offend anyone, I'm sorry, but these are my personal feelings.

Lately, when I have gone into chat, I have noted that even though there are SEVERAL chatters in there, hardly anyone greets the newcomer. There are some who greet everyone who comes in, but there are others who just keep on chatting away and ignore the new person entering into chat. This not only has happened to ME, but to others who came into the chat room after I did. I am not normally hurt easily, but I find this conduct in very poor taste.

Sometimes its not easy to sort everything out when there's several conversations going on at the same time in chat, but there is NO reason why EVERYONE can't stop for a moment and greet the incoming chatter.

The chat room is open for ALL, its not an exclusive social club for just a few. So please everyone, when you are in chat, take a moment to greet anyone who comes in. Please consider the feelings of all who enter....some may be very new and looking for help. What kind of message are we sending when we ignore their arrival?

Mrd D. I understand your concern,. and i am glad that you brought it to our attention, how ever, alot of us minimze the chat while we are away from our desk. I am there in the morings and afternoons mainly, and I have alwasy seen the newbies greeted. I cant say what goes on in the evenings, although we are learing how do the logs and such. which i will be getting on a daily basis soon so that i can keep up wth what goes on.
I do how ever do trust the ones that are in there.

I am glad that you brought this to our attention so that we can look into it more.

by the way, i do miss you myself in there :)

I KNOW you are working hard with the chat room and you can't be there 24/7. I'm confidant that it will keep getting better with you at the reins!!!

thank you Mrs D. we are trying to get everything in order, but as you said, i cant be there 24/7. I do try to keep the window open so that IF any one needs , i can see the PM.
as well as all the OP's has my7 p[hone number as well.
