Visiting at Bath Institution
Basically you will go in the front gate...you will be checked by the ion scanner. Everything but up to $30 in change has to be locked up. If you are bringing money in for the inmate you must tell the guard there. They will call through to V&C to let them know. You may again be checked by the dog if he is around. Also kids are checked on the ion scanner which I have an objection to.
There are sandwich machines, pop, coffee, and junk food machines. YOu can can smoke outside (bring in sealed cigarettes...the guard opens them), however that will change in January 2006.
Visits are Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30. Saturday 8:30 to 4:00 and Sunday 8:30 to 4:00.
PFV's presently are about 28 to 35 days apart. Lifers are entitled to two 6 day trailers per year.
You can't send anything in except letters.
There are a lot of programs at Bath. It is a "program" institution. A lot of sex offender programs, drug and alcohol abuse programs, anger management etc.
There are three units that inmates can live in. One is houses where you live with 10 other inmates, order groceries, cook etc. ( no store here). The others are large units with bedrooms..no cell bars. There is a lot of freedom to walk around outside.
Phone calls are all day up until 10:30...but turned on again around 5 am. There is a nice play area for the kids...toys, videos etc.
Thank you Kassiesgma for providing this information
