Hello, I visited my cousin who is in Thumb CF yesterday. The visit was GREAT. We stayed for 4.5 hours and my cousin ate like a pig :D He says that its not that bad in there (considering the situation). The food isn't bad, he has a television in his cell, can get up whenever he wants (can sleep in if he doesn't want to eat breakfast) and light are out at 12:30. I thought this was good considering the images that are depicted on television and how some other prisons are. He is down to level 2 with about 8 years left on a 15 (i think) year sentence. Although he didn't have much bad to say because he is trying to stay positive I still worry about him and hope he isn't just saying these things to keep us from worrying. Is there anyone who had family members in Thumb that might be able to give me more information good or bad. Btw, the guards who were there were pretty friendly to us.

I'm glad your visit went well! Kudos to him for wanting to stay positive! If you ever stay in the area, just let me know and I'll give you some great area information. I live about an hour from Lapeer, but 2 of my daughters live in that area and my doctor is there also!

Glad you had a nice visit! My ex boyfriend was in Thumb from November 2001 thru April 2004. The guards there were always pretty pleasant there and I never had any problems.
