My boyfriend was just sent to Kern Valley State Prison (Delano II) . Does anyone know how bad or good this new prison is. He is in there on possesion charge (drugs, Paraphenelia) Why would he go to a Maxium security Prison?

Delano is a level 4 prison, it's new so they are still trying to establish things, visiting is not so bad, you get processed pretty quickly. The address is Kern Valley State Prison, P.O. Box 5101, Delano, CA 93216, phone 661 721 6300, is he still in orientation.

I was also told that Delano is just for processing up to 90 days before they find a permanent place for him to do the rest of his time?? He just left on Monday so I have to wait to hear from him..

One is a Fraud case, the other was bad checks. I currently am on court probation for driving on a suspended licence. Santa Clara County had approved me sending me a letter stating that,I could visit, for when he was here, before he was transfered to Kern Prison.
