hi all ~ can someone explain to me what the vistation policy is regarding high and medium security facilties? one can only visit if they have an "established" relationship with the person prior to incarceration ~ i get that, but i don't understand what it means when the handbook says "unless the individual does not receive regular visitors". what is "regular"? how does this work?

thanks in advance!

THE ONLY THING I KNOW ABOUT THIS IS WHEN I WAS PUT ON MY FRIENDS LIST IN FED-CUMBERLAND MARYLAND...THEY SENT ME A FORM TO FILL OUT ABOUT HOW LONG IVE KNOWN HIM ETC BUT NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT REGULAR VISITS...I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT IS

Aprilcat, it is not worth taking a chance on marking the visitors form anything other than you knew them prior to incarceration. Think back real hard, you remember knowing prior to their incarceration. ;) Noone will question you too much on whether or not you knew them or how you knew them prior to incarceration.

The way they explained it to me, regular visits pretty much means if anyone comes to see them.

i gotcha, fly ;) this is pure future-tripping, but hey, i thought i'd ask. in the meantime, i'll try hard to recall all of our "past" encounters! ;)

thanks! *hugs*

Hiya :)

Regular visitor usually means a visitor not on "official business" such as clergy or legal representation. At least on the state level, that's what it meant. Anyone considered a friend, family etc. Visits which count towards an inmate's monthy visit hours.

thanks for that information, kaedren. i wasn't sure if it meant "regular" as in "often" or "unofficial". i appreciate you clearing that up for me. ac
