Thanks. witchlinblue 11-19-2005, 11:58 PM Are you telling me that your lawyer is not coming up with someone for you ? ringoswife 11-20-2005, 12:14 AM He has a call in to someone in Victoria that apparently comes to Vancouver sometimes and is known to the courts. He asked me if I would be able to go to Victoria to see this guy and I said no. Unfortunately I can't afford the time off work or the expense of the ferry. He's still waiting to hear back from him. And he has someone else in mind that he's going to call AFTER he hears back. He said if I knew of anyone myself or if anyone recommended someone to me I could make the arrangements and he would speak to him/her. I know - it doesn't make much sense to me either. I have less than 3 weeks to go to sentencing now and time is running out. He said it's not critical to get a shrink's report but would likely help. I have 3 wonderful reference letters so far to give to the judge. witchlinblue 11-20-2005, 12:21 AM Well you are running out of time. You know what I would do ? I would open the phone book and start calling every single one in the book and ask if they can do that and if they can do it within the next week or two. Your lawyer needs to get things speeded up a bit I think. He doesnt always call you back and he also shouldnt be leaving something like this to the last minute type of thing. So maybe you should do some of your own research and try to find someone. I think the phone book is the best idea for this unless he comes threw with something for you Monday morning. You must be getting very anxious and this does not help. Im really glad you have reference letters. You know, anything else you can think of that will prove your worth to being a free person then go for it and get it, your lawyer is obviously overworked or is not taking this with your consideration in mind. You do need to start eliminating things that are stressing you out and this is one. Get on the phone Monday if you can. I tried looking on the internet and I couldnt find anything really. Im not really sure how to find that either. Best of luck and let us know how that goes. Im sending mental reminders out to your lawyer to get his rear end in gear quickly !!! ringoswife 11-20-2005, 12:54 AM He was the one who suggested the shrink in the first place and then when I met with him on Wed. and asked how he was making out finding one he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. Now when he phoned me on Friday at work to tell me about this one in Victoria he said it's a good thing we spoke about it. Sometimes I have such doubts about him but my first lawyer who's now a judge recommended him highly. I will make some calls on my own on Monday and see what I can come up with! I went out tonight to our company Xmas party/retirement party for one of the staff. Had one glass of wine and danced my feet off for a little while and have come home feeling a bit renewed. First time out like that in nearly 3 years. Sure did miss my man though. witchlinblue 11-20-2005, 12:59 AM Well Im sure you wished he could have been there with you, but he was there in your heart. Glad you got out and had fun, we all need a healthy social life when we are in this kind of situation and getting reknewed and out of the house is sometimes a necessity. Good for you and Im so glad you had fun. |
