I wonder why she is in a new jail, any ideas? Maybe somthing to do with doctors and the pregnancy. She was in mcminn county jail. And she escaped from thier with 2 other inmates, they just walked out after manipulating a couple of the guards. That happened march of 2002...I met her in July of 2002...we hooked up from thier, and she was just caught in Feb. And was back in mcminn county jail. Her sentence date was may 5th..where her lawyer told her she would be doing at most a year in prison. Then after that date. I didnt hear from her at all..communication came to an end.
I have never been in prison, and I have never known anyone who has been through prison, so I am new to all this. Any Idea why the communication just came to an end and they transfered her to another jail?

I've been seated late in the story.... so I'll just share my first thought. She may well have been moved because medical at jail 1 can't or won't be able to tend to a pregnant female prisoner. She may well have been moved because this is the joint she escaped from? Maybe I didn't read it right... But if this is the jail she escaped from...They'd have brought her back for booking (to prove the point that they DID recover her) but moved her to some contracted jail in the area.
Some jails only have space for so many women, beyond that they farm them out to a regional jail. That second jail may be taking extraordinary precautions because she's proven herself as an escape risk. They can snag any outgoing mail and run a check or at least NOTE who she's writing to, because if she goes over the fence again,--they'll have those new addresses (she's writing to) to check FIRST when looking for her.

As for why you might not have heard from her after the move... She could have her phonebook/addressbook locked in property and not have the info to get in touch. She could have no phone privileges for any number of reasons. She might not have any stamps/paper whatnot to do outgoing mail.

If you know the name of the joint she is in now... Have you tried to contact her? I didn't read anything about you getting any mail returned to you...

She was apparently moved from the McMinn County (TN) Jail to the Johnson City City Jail. He thinks she is going into the state system. I'm guessing the move had something to do with either her pregnancy or being a security risk, too. Especially since where she's been moved is a much larger city.

Anyway, since anthonyshere is new to anything about the prison system and had many more questions I thought I would move his post to this forum... we were all new to the system once, right?! :)
