My husband had his hearing last month and was granted parole. He turned in his parole plan and was told that they had until the 4th of Novmeber to either approve or deny it. I called to the parole place (nemerous of times) and asked to speak to his parole officer. Finally they connected me to this guy who looked up my husband's info. and said that he doesn't know why they assigned him the case beceause he only deals with halfway houses. So he told me that he would talk to his supervisor to see if they made a mistake or not by assigning my husband to him. Days passed and I figured I would call him to see what his superivisor said. The p.o said that he would be gone but will go ahead and approve the plan and fax it in to the p.o. at the unit where my husband is. Well, this morning my husband told me that the p.o. where he is said he never received the approved parole plan. (When my husband told me this, I was very upset because the p.o. I talked to lied to me.) When I got off the phone w/ my hubby, I called back to the parole office in Little Rock, and the p.o. told me that he put the plan in his supervisor's mailbox to look over it again and see if he was sure if he wanted him to be my hubby's p.o. or not. I asked if I could talk to his supervisor, and he told me that he won't be in until tomorrow. I really want them to hurry up and fax the approval in before the end of this month so he will be able to come home early b/c of the EPA kickout. Does anyone know who I can call to get this moving right along? I know that it doesn't take this long to approve nor fax an approval for a parole plan. Why can't they just fax it in and then once my husband is released, figure out who his parole officer will be? It's not like the plan has been approved. I just hate when people don't do their job.

What is his TE date...has it passed already? If not CHILL OUT! Be professional in all calls to these people. You must understand that the guy that you are giving grief to now may be his parole officer very soon and believe me these people have memoris like an elephant when it comes to some things. I am not saying to stop calling or to give up on the contrary. Always call work with each person for around a week after that ask for a supervisor. They will not want to give you this info but that is not a problem either just call the front desk at the Little Rock office and ask the receptionist who is this persons supervisor. Should that not work call (870) 850-8950 this is the number in Pine Bluff for the Institutional Release Service for the Department of Corrections. Tell them your dilemma and they are pretty helpful actually and they should be able to get the ball rolling faster for you! If you have any more questions just post I just went through this whole thing and I have all of the numbers and some of the answers.

Thanks for the number. I called it this morning and the woman I spoke to really couldn't help me.

They can help at times and at other times they may not be able to. There is no one solution to these problems each case is unique. Definately call the office in Little Rock and ask the lady who answers the phone who the feild supervisor is. Should she not tell you for whatever reason call the number I gave you and ask them they do know. Now when you are dealing with the people that are in Pine Bluff if they don't or won't help you ask for their supervisor immediately and continue doing this until someone answers your questions BUT always be polite and professional. The phrase to use is "Someone is going to help me today and I hope it is you" Keep notes on every conversation and always write down the names of the people you talk to. They make this like a maze on purpose but when you have all of your documentation it becomes easier for them to help you than to fight you. Keep dates and times of all conversations so when they tell you when or what are you talking about and you read it back to them from your notes it actually scares them. They think maybe you are the one that could get them in trouble for not doing their job! Good Luck!
