But i cant get the darn petition to work, it still tells me they are down. Some one told me that it was not. well it wont work for me darnet.
Mr. James E. Hall,
Hello and thankyou. What sits before you is twofold in nature. It is a thankyou and endorsement of your current support for the Associates of Arts Degree program at your assigned unit, Ironwood State Prison in California. In addition you'll find appended a petition from individuals who fully support this educational opportunity provided by Palo Verde Community College through the Ironwood State Prison.
We the undersigned believe that this educational program and others like it offered to inmates provide sound rehabiiitative instruction and opportunities. The statistics concerning incarcerated individuals earning a degree while in the penitentiary and the much lower rate of recidivism amongst this demographic group upon release speaks volumes in the validity and worth of this program.
We ask you Mr. Hall to continue to follow your heart and common sense as you stand against the unjust opposition to this valuable program which has the possibility of offering empowerment, higher self esteem and successful reintegration back into society for the inmates fortunate enough to be allowed this golden opportunity. The prison guards union which is in direct opposition to this positive endeavor is self seeking and blatantly in contrast to the good will of the community at large. The penitentiary is just that, a place for individuals convicted by their peers to go and learn penitence and hopefully receive the rehabilitation that is their due.
Common sense dictates that these courses offered in the degree program are a small investment for tax payers that will reap a mighty return. Investing a very small amount now in the lives of those striving to enhance themselves in a positive fashion will enable them to one day become contributing members to society and to flee the untold costs to taxpayers in continual future assistance for the individual who has been warehoused in prison with no opportunities and therefore is institutionalized and a continual financial burden to all taxpayers.
Warden Hall you are to be commended for your present unwavering stance which is honorable and righteous concerning this key to a better life for many. Please find strenght in the fact that you are on the side of right and that you are backed by many individuals who are pleased to see you stand for justice in the face of adversity. Carry on Warden Hall and your unit will be a shining example of the rehabilitation and changed lives that are possible from behind the walls when assistance and opportunity are made available for those willing to reach out and receive it. Take care and stay strong.
We, the undersigned, stand in unity with Warden Hall and any who support the Associates of Arts Degree program and any other degree programs in the California Prison System,
this is what i still get from this place
