My man is incarserated there and I know I sometimes have questions and I'm sure many others do as well so this is a place for all of us to communicate. Hi , i haven't seen or spoke to my baby for four months now, he was at NK now KV, i have wrote every single day since his incarrceration and my letters are like 7 to 10 days before he recieves them, if he recieves them at all,, phone calls we haven't spoke in 4 months, is it that difficult for them to be allowed the use of a phone, prison yes, not a concentration cape,, he has no communication with the outside except for me and he is being moved so much forget getting my letters, how do i tell him i love him im here, im hurting and just as lonely as him. its as if i cant get him that message,,, if anyone visits KV if possible I dont know,, Scott MacIver C4-107u PLEASE LET HIM KNOW I LOVE HIM MORE THEN LIFE AND THAT I DO KNOW WHERE HE IS AT ALL TIMES... dont know if possible but it cant hurt to ask,,, what else do i have nothing,,, thank you

okay i am a little on the stress side right now. I am trying to get in touch with my friend at kvsp and i know he is not going to call me today because well he calls me on wednesdays but something has came up and i need to talk to him asap and 911. i called so many ext and i cant get to his counselor. i am so stuck and i dont know what to do. there was not a death in the family or anything but still i need to talk to him. right now he is working and where he is working is in the library but still i have no way to reach him. he is in yard a and the co in his facility cant do much. any ideas or who i need to talk to in order to get him to have a call to call me.

I have a question for all of the Delano2 visitors, I was wondering how the visiting is like there? I mean, can you make appointments to where you just walk in when your appointment time is called? Or is it that you have to wait outside in line to get in, at what time do you have to get there to get a good full days visit?? Thanks in advance.

Physically, the prison is located about 1 mile West of NKSP on West Cecil Ave. just before you hit Hiway 43 as you travel West on Cecil Ave.

My man just went down on Monday and Im glad this forum is here ..I will go visit when I can..Is there a long "approval process" for visitation..He has to do maybe 2 years for Felony vandalism (punched a hole in a wall) probation violation etc..Hopefully this will be it for him...

Hey there to all of you who have loved ones at Delano II. I just found out some more kind of helpful info. It is regarding marriage. Right now there are no marriages taking place until the proceedures are approved. Once they are approved I have been getting mixed messages on how the initial marriage packet is to be obtained so I will let you know when I find out. One lady I spoke with says that they (inmates) will make copies themselves in the law library for a fee of $5.00 but a friends man who works in the law library says that he doesn't think that is how it is going to be so we will just have to wait and see. Also northern and southern hispanics on A yard are on lockdown right now so before you go to visit make sure and check the visiting hotline 1-800-374-8474. Also be sure to speak with someone at the prison because there are some hispanics classified as mexican nationals and so they aren't on lockdown. Hope this info is helpful to you all and if there is anything else you would like info on just let me know and I will see what I can find out. Oh and one more thing is it taking everyones inmates almost a month to recieve letters from you??

yep! like 3 weeks-ish for my husband to recieve a letter. from his letters, he just went six days without a letter from me!!.... i write EVERYDAY!! (eccept sundays y'knw) it sux. the prison isnt even full and they're that slow. i dont remember where i heard this prob my husband but i guess there r only 2 people that wrk the mailroom..???

you know what i was talking to my boyfriend and well he is also saying that this mail this is too much. he is actually wanting me to call and see what is up. also my friend and i are looking into seeing who we need to call as a family advocate for us to try to get them to give the guys their mail sooner. how about if we all are not busy to make a 5 min. phone call to see what is up. i mean god gave us a mouth to speak up and this way if enough of us speak up maybe we can get some changes up in their. i agree with it taking 3 weeks. by the time they get it i think i have already forgotten what the heck i wrote about.

I started a thread in the mail forum about what we could do about this. There are a couple of good suggestions like calling or writing a letter to the warden. There is a great copy of a letter someone sent to give us ideas! You all should take a look.

Whats up ladies are there not that many of us out there with loved ones at K.V.S.P? I was wondering if the mail is still taking 3-4 weeks? I heard it through the grapevine that it was supposed to be getting better but we'll see. I also spoke to someone regarding marriages if anyone is interested.

I have a penpal at KVSP and he just got my Thanksgiving card postmarked Nov. 16. Of course, I am in Tennessee, and I do expect it to take a little longer, but this is ridiculous!

I was curious if any of you have had a really bad experience at the new delano prison. My friends husband got transferred there and he hates it. When she went to visit him this last weekend she said that the guards are so rude and that you have to walk almost a half of a mile just to get to the visiting building. She also said that he has lost so much weight that he looked sick.

I'm sorry to hear that your friend is going through this. I wouldn't say that I've had a really bad experience but they are extra strict because it is so new and they have to get everything established. As for the rude C.O.'s if it is really becoming a problem have her talk to Lt. Condo at ext.5712. He is very nice and always calls back. I think little by little things are being put into place. The mail was bad for a couple of weeks but it should be getting on track after the holidays. Did her man say what was bothering him and why he hated it so much? They do kind of treat them like kindergardeners.

Hi ladies well I asked my brother this weekend about the mail and he said it is improving that it takes only 7 days from the time it's post marked. Not great but I guess it's better than how it was right well just thought I'd let everone know.

I just found out my brother in law is being moved from Lancaster to the "New Delano". I assume Delano 2 is the new one. I dont know much about CA prisons and what ones are what custody levels nor do I know what part of the state they are in.

The in laws are in MT and I told them I would see what I could find out about this prison so any details would be great

TNC: The new delano prison is Delano II. It is located in the Central Valley 30 miles north of Bakersfield in the town of Delano. It is about an hour from Lancaster. I'm not sure about all of the custody levels there but my love is level 4. Any other info you would like just let me know.

i might be jumpoing the gun, but i got a phone call last night. my husbands counselor called him out thursday, he has a board hearing on tuesday and his counselor is recommending he be transferred to d2. we have been hoping for him to get over there and out of SVSP. so i am just wondering how it is over there? where he has been they are on lockdown ALL the time; as in no program at all since february of last year. no phone calls unless they give them a special call; no yard at all, its insane. so im wondering if things will improve once he gets transferred?

also wondering how the visiting process works. at svsp we have to line up outside by 5 am to get a number to get called in by about 9-10 am. it takes the guys another 1 sometimes 2 hours to come down so our visits are very short. im hoping its not that bad over here?

There are vending machines only, they assign you to seats, the visiting is not so bad, I've been going there since October, the only think I hate is in the winter the fog can be real heavy where you can't see directly in from of you. The co's on my man's yard are pretty nice and respectful, visiting starts at 8:00 - 2:30, to me its a lot better SVSP, they do program, but right now they are on lockdown, but they can still have visits. I hope the mail start improving, it can be slow, but other than that, no real big complaints.

wow seat assignments haha never had that before. . . .
the fog is pretty bad at SVSP also; last weekend i went that was their excuse for holding us up for getting in until almost 10 am. . . .
it sounds alot better; at least they do program, and even if they are on lockdown, it probably wont be a year long one like the other place.

Okay ladies here I am to give my info. My man is on A yard and I visit almost every 2 weeks and this is how it goes. At least for me. Mostly we arrive at 7:30 am and we get in the line of cars outside the gate. There are usually about 5-10 cars in line already. They let us in the gate at 7:45. I don't really rush to get in line because I like to be between the 15th and 20th person in the visiting room so that if it gets full and they need to terminate visits I won't be terminated. And even if we get into the visiting room early it sometimes takes them a while to bring him out. Most of the officers are alright and most of the time you can request the table you would like. When the visiting room starts getting busier they are usually pretty kickback about things. My man and I hug and kiss all of the time and they really don't notice much. The vendors suck big time and I think we should see what we can do about that. The mail is better than it was. They are getting mail in about 7 days now as apposed to 3 weeks like before. As for the marriages I just spoke with Kelly Yeager today and she says the packets aren't ready yet and it should be a couple more weeks but she's been telling me that for a month now so maybe if we bug her enough she will hurry up. Her # is 661-721-6300 ext.5272. If there are any other questions that I can help with let me know.:) Oh and one more thing. Yard A is on lockdown right now but they are still getting visits. I think it has something to do with stuff missing from the kitchen.

My man ships out from PVSP to Delano II on Monday. Does anyone happen to know what the various yards are there? Are they 270 or 180 yards? Also, is there a Level 4 SNY there. I probably will have a ton of questions, but for now, if anyone knows this it would help. Thanks!

C yard is a sensitive needs yard from what I know, I may be wrong. I think is like protective custody. AT least this is what I heard. He hasn't arrived yet. This is a LEvel 4 yard, I don't know what other yards might be lower level sensitive needs yard. I'll find out when he writes. As he isn't htere yet, his information may not be completely correct. I'll let you know

I checked with him and there are no calls when in Ad Seg. If he is there a long time, he may get one call a month I'm not sure about that. I suggest lots of letters for now- even if it is horribly slow.

my husband said they were opening D yard as a 180?
we are trying to find out the real info; he said hes heard you can only bring 2 personal appliances, no personal clothes, no coffee and that they are on lockdown with no visits or program at all.
since he hasnt moved yet, its all info through the rumor mill.

My husband is there, he is on A yard, his has been there since October. During orientation that i sno program, orientation last about 10 days. D yard has just opened up for inmates, they are asking other inmates in other yards if they would like to transfer over there. My husband has been programming for a while now, lockdown is not as often as SVSP I use to go there as well. He has had a lot of phone time and also yard time, no prison is going to that great, somethings they are very petty about but at least he will get to call home and also have yard once orientation ends. I go at every other weekend, there has only been once when they had a lockdown where there no visits and it only lasted 1 week. Now B yard seem to go on lockdown quite often, so it really depends on the yard. Feel free to ask as many questions and I will try my best to give you info. Where do you come from?

Hello ladies, My almost ex is up at KVSP. He got there from SQ a couple of months ago. Just wanted to say hello. He is on B yard. We are from Co Co County.

Dear girls, I think we need to share a lot as this is a new prison and most of ours are transferring to there at an increasing rate. there are new things to work out and any information any of us can provide will help those of us who are concerned and have our confusions. Mine went out today and I hope to have information on the Level 4 SNY within a few days as he writes every day. Obviously things will be different at this new place. let's all hope it is better! I've asked for a new sub section for Delano II as it is so new and there is so much confusion and so many concerns and I expect this will continue for months. Perhaps you can ask as well for this reason. Until then, please stay in touch and share. I should have some comparisons soon as mine has been in about half the prisons in California during his stretch.

I am about to make my first visit in Feb. I am going to visit with a penpal that I have been writing for the past 7 months. I have made a no contact visit before with an ex boyfriend in Chino. So I have a slight idea how things go. I am just wondering if anyone can give me some insight as to how visiting is over there at KVSP. What time is best to start lining up? I saw a few prior posts on this from a few months back. I just want to know how it is now. Thanks for any info that anyone is able to provide

i am new to this , my husband wrote me a letter and stated to me that he will be tranferring there some time soon , my only concern is how is the processing , im coming from svsp and people who have visited there know that the line to get passes in the morning is hectic!!! so can we make appoitments there and what about dress code ? not that i wear revealing clothes , but do they allow tee shirts , sweats things like that , any info would be greatly appreciated !!!!!

hey is your husband freaking out about this too? i ask cuz mine is also coming to KVSP from SVSP. from what i hear my friend we dont have to spend the night on the side of the freeway anymore or get up to be in line by 430 am to get in by 9-10! instead my old riding partner from svsp told me they get in line at *GASP* 745 am! and are inside by 8 am! to me this sounds like heaven how about you?
anyway i havent heard yet about dress code and such. good question. i have taken to wearing the same thing every time sinc eyou know how they are at svsp; each week the rules change so now its black pants, black t shirt tennis shoes and a sweatshirt (black or maroon) to make sure i dont have problems getting in. hope i can do the same thing now!

do any of you send the letters certified? a trick i learned a lon gtime ago. it was taking a month or more to get my letters and i write daily. now i send them all certified and he has them in 3-5 days. . . not sure if it will be the same once he moves tho

I haven't had a family visit as we are not married yet. Hopefully by April though but I have seen families playing outside on family visits and I also asked about when they are and she said Tue-Thur, Thur-Sat & Sat-Mon. You get 46 hours. Also I have seen the supplies they give you and it's like one flimsy blanket and one sheet with two small towels that would probably only wrap around one leg. Normal visiting isn't a relaxed as S.V.S.P. but it's getting there. Also we don't have a vendor like the one at Salinas that would bring in the outside food and I wish there was something we could do about that. Just this past week in yard A they let us start hugging in the pictures! Before we couldn't. But the best thing is not much waiting. People do make a line of cars outside the gates but it's not that long and processing is usually quick. Just remember thought the prison is not full yet so that might be why. Anyhow just my lil info and I'm glad to see there are more people joining the thread. :) Oh and yes you can sit next to your husband :)

one thing i will miss about svsp. . . . the vendor. i talked to him about it last weekend; he said he had tried to get KVSP but i guess its a blind vendor? im not sure cuz i have a hard time sometimes understanding what he is saying to me. . . but yeah. i will miss the real food; more so i know my husband will miss it.

Hopefully by April though but I have seen families playing outside on family visits and I also asked about when they are and she said Tue-Thur, Thur-Sat & Sat-Mon. You get 46 hours. Also I have seen the supplies they give you and it's like one flimsy blanket and one sheet with two small towels that would probably only wrap around one leg. Normal visiting isn't a relaxed as S.V.S.P. but it's getting there. Also we don't have a vendor like the one at Salinas that would bring in the outside food and I wish there was something we could do about that. Just this past week in yard A they let us start hugging in the pictures! Before we couldn't. But the best thing is not much waiting. People do make a line of cars outside the gates but it's not that long and processing is usually quick. Just remember thought the prison is not full yet so that might be why. Anyhow just my lil info and I'm glad to see there are more people joining the thread. :) Oh and yes you can sit next to your husband :)

haha i called and asked the same thing of SVSP; im scared to make the drive since its so far for me; he told me they would tell him on a sat or most likely sunday to transpack and then they would go on a tuesday probably but you just never know. . . . they told me he is still there right now also tho; but i cant go this weekend anyway so part of my hopes they are moved by next week. even if it will be a lil bit before we can see them after the move it will be closer for me, but its farther for you isnt it?

my husband said he heard that about the co's that were sent to new delano too but honeslty who knows, ya know? from the rumors hes heard in there hes thinking its going to be way worse than svsp; personally i think more than anything its being afraid of the change. i am a lil too, but trying to be strong for him right now. i benefit by him being way closer; plus if its running as they said it would, they are supposed to be able to program and have classes and stuff that they havent been getting at svsp which was a big reason for him wanting the transfer back when it opened.
as far as the co's; well svsp gets alot of newbies too; and alot are alright and a lot are more than jerks you know. its prison; i think you will gett hat anywhere so im tryin to just look at the positives. . . the not knowing is the hardest part.
i got a letter today that said its official he got the paper in the mail on tuesday so its just waiting for the bus. if you hear that the bus left before i do will you let me know? and i will do the same since i figure they will go out on the same bus probably.
lucky for you that you have family close. that definately helps. plus, 3 1/2 hours is still not too bad. it usually takes me 4 1/2 - 6 now depending on traffic. but you are right there so right now for you its easy. that part stinks! but hopefully it will be better for our husbands; thats the important thing.

If it helps anyone, mine just transferred from PVSP. His experience so far is horrible as they lost his file. However, he told me the best CO's from PVSP transferred there which is encouraging. Does anyone know how long orientation is, before they can call? They have to find his file, which hasn't been lost in 30 years yet, but want to know what when they find it, we can expect. This is the tempered down version. If anyone wants to know my true feelings and upsets, or settle me down on this, since he is being held in Ad Seg until this gets resolved, they can PM me. I'm really trying to be encouraging here. The COs from PVSP that have transferred are program and some of the best. I have have a personal crisis with the file. I'll let you know more once this little glitch is solved. Hopefully with the best from PVSP and the intention to showcase this prison for programs, this will be a good move for those who are transferring. Again, as there are bunches of transfers to this new prison, and a lot of concern and not understood things, I think we need to make this column very helpful, and perhaps get our own section. I've heard they are moving men from Corcoran here over the next few months as well. Hence, with all of the new moves, all of us need assistance, reassurance and with to hell that someone would find his file.

Orientation lasts from 10-14 days. while in orientation they can not have visits at all. after that, from what i heard on the visiting info, it says that if the inmate has been on the yard less than one month, they dont get contact visits; dont know yet if the time in orientation counts towards that one month on the yard. . . .
also not sure about the phone in orientation or not. mine wont get there until wednesday so i guess i will find out then.
i keep posting as i get more info as do most of the others on here.

Hi! This is my first post -- I am new to PTO and sure wish I had this available to me 20 years ago. My ex-husband was just transferred to Delano II (he's serving life - three strikes) and I wanted to know if the visiting on C yard is indoors only. Thanks.

Hello kmama and welcome to PTO. Yes visiting on every yard is indoors only. They do open the doors for air but that's about it. Also to you ladies that were wondering about the jackets. Yes they can wear them in visiting. Well at least on A yard they can I don't know about any other yards. As far as the CO's go most of them are alright. Some of them have attitudes but I guess we just have to remind them that we are not prisoners and we shouldn't be treated as such.

i just talked to visiting cop and found out:

orientation is 3-6 weeks before they get contact visits;
no jeans unless its a child under the age of 1;
if a minor lives with you but you arent their legal guardian (i have this situation), you just need a notorized letter from the parent stating the parents name, childs name, DOB, your name, the inmates name and CDC#.

that is the best i could find out for now.

im sad; 3-6 weeks is too long for me. they can have one hour behind glass visits sooner.

I visited at NKSP on this past Saturday for the first time. I was impressed with the whole thing. The COs I encountered were all really nice, and helpful since this was my first time doing this. Visiting is on Sat and Suns from 8-230. They only terminated 3-4 visits while I was there as they were at full capacity. They do ask you if its ok to have another couple at your table to allow for more people to visit so they dont have to terminate. We were able to hold hands and kiss during the visit without the COs saying anything.

I was on yard A. I do not know anything about appointments. I did not have one. My man says the Cos will usually terminate people first, if they have regular visitors.

He was transferred there in like late Sept or early Oct. I do not know anything about waiting to visit. I would try and call the prison and ask for visiting, and ask them. I had called them several times to try and find out about my visiting app, and they were usually pretty nice.

ya know something funny? never in all the time he has been at SVSP have i gotten a letter on a tuesday. but yesterday i got a letter from him from thursday where he wrote they had him transpack all his stuff. . . i did call this morning to see if he was still there and they show him still being there; i dont think it will show on the system until they arrive at the new destination.

Hey ladies!! I believe all they can wear are scrubs. But unfortunatly we can't wear jeans. Actually we can wear black jeans just not blue. As for terminating visits here is some helpful info for all of you once you have your contact visits. They cannot terminate your visit if you have not visited within the last 30 days and you drive over 250 miles to visit. This includes both Saturday and Sunday. It is stated in the title 15. Also once you are terminated they cannot terminate you for another 30 days unless absolutly neccesary, like there is no one else to terminate. I only let you know this because I visit every two weeks, sometimes more, and visiting gets full fast and people usually start getting terminated early. I only know about yard A though. Weather up there this time of year varries. It can be nice and sunny one day and rainy and cold the next.

Ok so YAY! i called records at KVSP this morning and found out my husband made it over there yesterday! i am happy to know we are at least one leg into this journey. . . the records guy was very nice and told me they are still really short staffed on counselors so it is taking a lil longer than normal for the inmates to get classified and his housing location can change, so he said when you write call and make sure they are still where they were the day before when you send the letter if they are a new arrival.

thats all the news i have right now. i havent heard from my husband yet, and expect a dealy stil. i dont know if he has his paper and envelopes and such yet; i plan to send more tomorrow but i hope to hear from him in some way soon. i miss that man like craczy!

anyway thats it. im just happy that i know hes there. thats a start.

hey sinners lady thanks :) really we never have calls anyway; he was able to get one to me today somehow; they let him call so i could calll SVSP and see how long its gonna take to send his property cuz he has some legal stuff in there he needs. so i was pleasantly surprised that i was woken up to his voice. hes still al il stressed and pissy. . . mostly that he thinks hes gonna miss the superbowl since he doesnt have his tv ;) but overall now that i have his address and i already wrote to him this morning, as soon as he gets the paper im sending at least we will have letters back which is huge for us.

definately! its so hard to get a hold of anyone at svsp but i wil keep checking. delano has been really nice and helpful already though. they told me they are extremely short staffed still on counselors and that is why its taking so long for people to get classified and all. . . . i just want to hurry and get my visits!

Does anyone know anything about C yard? Are there phones hooked up, etc? Mine finally arrived there after a 10 day detour in Ad Seg becaues they forgot to send his C file with him. Just checking on whether anyone has heard anything about or from this yard yet. No mail from mine yet. Will keep you posted on what I hear.

Hi NancyP, regarding the C Yard, my ex was transferred there from Corcoran on 1/23/06. He got his property on 1/30/06 which I understand is very resonable considering some of the stories I have heard. And he said he'll be calling on Feb. 10th, so they must have phones. Oh, and mail is taking ~2 weeks. Hope that helps some.

NancyP, just wanted to say I received a letter today that only took five days to make its way to Colorado, so mail is moving out of C yard pretty fast, but that is once our guys get their property (supplies to write!).

I'm in Phoenix and it takes two days for mail to get to me. I been responding but I don't know how fast they are getting the mail in there. Probably a while huh?

IT IS TAKING THEM ANY WHERE FROM 10 DAYS TO 2 WEEKS TO GET MAIL FROM THE OUTSIDE. AT CHRISTMAS TIME IT WAS AROUND 3-4 WEEKS. WITH VALENTINES DAY AROUND THE CORNER IT WILL PROBABLY SLOW DOWN AGAIN.

Thanks Girls for the data on C yard. I still haven't received a letter. I'll let you know when I do and how long it took for my mail to reach him certified mail. Please keep sharing. I still don't ahve enough information on this new prison yet.

Does any one but Nancy P and I send their letters certified? i am wondering if you do, how long it has taken them to get them. . . since my husband just got there wed i have no way to base yet how long my certified letter took to get to him or if he has it yet; which i mailed out friday mrning after i finally got his address.

QUESTION: Will an inmate receive mail that has been addressed to the wrong housing number? When I initially called to get to my ex's address, they gave me something different from what he sent me yesterday. I had a few letters in transit before he sent me the correct housing...just wondering if he'll eventually get them. Thanks!

This prison is supposedly very short staffed, which is one of the reasons it takes the inmates so long to get their mail. I have never sent a certified letter, but it is supposed to be a little bit quicker. I have heard, if u got a short msg to say jus drop a postcard, which is supposed to be the quickest way of delivery.

If the housing number is wrong they will still get it, but it will be delayed. I had put the wrong CDC number, he still got it but it was delayed.

i have sent his mail certified for the past 2-3 years because he usually gets it in 3-5 days instead of the normal weeks-month. once in a while it still will take up to 10 days tho. . . but its usually faster. but it gets very expensive if you are doing it everyday.
yes i do with the green card just so i know it at least made it to the prison; then i can see from the time it got there how long it took for him to get it.

If they are in the same building, in a different cell, there will be no delay. I called the mail room and they told me they deliver it to the address on the envelope. If he has moved, it never comes back to the mail room, it is up to someone on the yard to delivery it to the right place. They did say they mail out the mail from the inmates the day they receive them (or the next day if they pick up late). I have received only one letter since he arrived there on the 23rd- that one mailed the first day he arrived. He had no paper or envelopes and asked me to send them to him- which I did that day. Obviously he hadn't received them yet. So go figure. THat is all of the data I know.

He doesn't want to keep sending requests to his counselor because she never gets back to him and he says if he annoys her she will make it harder when we want to be approved. He said that some guys 602'd her and they got rolled up!
I just got the rings too last week and they just need to get things going already!

~Brown Queen~ Hey girl I go up and stay almost every other weekend but I have never stayed in Delano. The motels seem to be a little more expensive. Like around $75 and I stay in Motel 6 in Bakersfield for only $40 so if money is an issue you might want to look around. It's only like a 20 min drive from Bakersfield or you could also check Tulare which is like 20 min north of Delano.

As for all of the mail issues it's ridiculous and you ladies should call and talk to the seargent of the yard. We were having the 4 week problem a while ago and the inmates 602'd the staff and now it's down to 1 week and a half which is still bad but better than before. Also Inmate family council is starting soon so maybe we can talk to them about these issues.:thumbsup:

i have been trying to get in touch with SVSP to find out the answer to that for my husband; at Delano 2 they told me it could take up to 4 months :eek:
i havnt gotten through to R&R at SVSP so i have no idea

if i find out any answers i will post them. if anyone has any other ideas on how to find out i need answers too.

i was told by R&R at SVSP today that the inmate needs to appeal it and that the inmate has been in the system long enough, they know the process. . . . sometimes the busses are too full and they just cant get the inmates AND property on them. . . .

good answer huh? made me very happy to hear them tell me that my husband has been in the system long enough he should know. sheesh. all we are wondering is if they could tell me how long before he has his property; its not like any of these guys have much. a couple pics of their wives, their legal files (which they are all very attached too arent they?), some envelopes and writing paper. i mean sheesh. ok sorry im just irritated at the way it was said; how they feel if they had to move and someone said oh yeah the truck with all of your belongings will arrive whenever we feel like sending it to you?

My man transferred on the 23rd of Jan. They forgot to send his C file, so he got stuck in Ad SEg as a result- so there is something worse than not having their property. He has now transferred to the yard, and I will know tomorrow if he got his property. I suggest that each of you with new transfers there send off paper and stamped envelopes certified mail to them. Mine did get his, and he has been able to send me letters which I received yesterday. I'll let you know when I hear from him tomorrow as he can now communicate. If it helps any, he likes the COs, the Captain of his yard, and the AW. As this is a 180 yard, the cells are better and the delay in getting my mail, even though he only got the one which wasn't certified was faster than PVSP. Hang in there ladies, it is rough, once I hear more, and I will get letters daily (except Tuesdays), I'll keep you posted. Mine is on C yard. Don't know about the other yards yet. But he made contacts when in his ridiculous stint in Ad SEg. Just so you know, mine is an old timer, he has a B number, and I'm an old timer too, and we will help you as much as we can as I get information which is starting to come in now. Yahoo! Hey ladies keep checking on the property cause one of my friends husband didn't get it for 4 months. They sent it to a different prison and the only reason he knew it was there was because one of the homies (an inmate) saw it go by his cell and recognized it :eek: and contacted his people. Not that that always happens because my man got his in 2 weeks but just in case.:thumbsup:

I didn't talk to my man for 21 days, it sucked and finally got to talk to him yesterday and hopefully again on Thursday!! I am so happy !! I don't like this very much but we will make it I have faith. I have hope !!! :thumbsup:

Up to 5 people can go visit an inmate but anyone who is over 18 has to be approved fist. Visiting is only on Sat. & Sun. and 5 holidays a year. 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Here is an update from my man. He was transferred from Ad Seg (he was there because they lost his file! for 10 days when he arrived.) He went to C yard on Friday. He got his property immediately when they transferred him to the yard. He has phone calls and I got the first call today. He says they do have Day room and can make calls even while on orientation. So far he says it is pretty good there. Some of the COs he has known who were pretty good are there. He will call tomorrow and I will ask other questions. He calls almost every day when he can. He is getting letters- got about 3 or 4 from me so far. He has been there about 2 1/2 weeks. Hope this helps. I'll keep you girls posted. Nancy

Call visiting directly at 661-721-6360 and find out directly from them. they are open most mornings, and especially on Wednesday and Friday for appointments. I personally would rather talk to a live person. Let me know what they tell you.

My man said that per the papers they were given they get to do programming 15 days after they arrive. Mine is a stickler on holding the officers to Title 15 and their own rules. Thought I would pass this on as this is what the men are given at KVSP. The final classification is taking longer, but they should have programming after 15 days.

Contact visits are where you can sit together hold hands, walk around in a big visiting room. Non-contact visits are where you sit in a chair and a piece of glass separates you from the man (or woman) who sits on the other side of the glass.

Contact visits can be for hours. Usually non-contact visits are for 1 hour only.

well as i thought i called first thing this morning, but this weekend is all booked up. so i can call wed and make an appointment for next weekend. i think i can wait since i got a phone call and know that he is now getting hismail. and he has been able to start sending mail to me so yeah.

As of a couple of weeks ago there was only 2 approved vendors for KVSP, J B Impact and D&D Enterprises. I ordered from D&D, I didnt think the prices were that bad. Some items were a little high.

I ordered from D&D Enterprises also, I didn't think the prices were too bad. But my fiance said that they are going to cancel D&D soon. I have never ordered from JB Impact so I don't know what to tell you about that one.

Also, I know someone was asking about "getting Married" well, me & Misssusiequise have been trying for a minute now to get married and they are taking forever to get the process going. AThe person you need to call is Kelly Yeager, I was calling her once a week and getting nowhere so now I am calling her twice a week. On Monday I am calling the Warden because I never get an answer from her and my fiance as sent her numerous inquiries and he has yet to get a respones from her. Well I hope that info helps. hey i got the letter from my husband today and he confirmed the venodors for packages. i was looking at JB Impact DIDNT LOOK *oops* so bad. i will have a better idea when i actually send the package though. but looking through hs list, prices looked about the same as access or packagesrus.

That happend to us. My brother didn't sign the form but we did. We sent it back to my brother with a post it note telling him to sign the form before he turned it in.

I also just got back from my visit. It got terminated early due to excessive contact. Damn!!! But its all good. My man did say they are going to limit the contact, and inforce the rules. I think our visit got terminated due to my hand being on his back. Also you are not allowed to wear any red!!! This apparently became the rule about 2 weeks ago. They turned away quite a few peple as they were wearing red. Also no light grey. But the 3 hours I was with my man were great.:).

Dear all, Mine is on C yard, and once he was done with his 15 days he got to program and calls every day. However, before I get all of your hopes up, here is what he told me tonight. I got a bit more information from my man. Per the instructions they were given, ad most are not through classification , they get put back to the last status they were on before shipping to this prison after 15 days. This isn't classification mind you. This is some other form of classification I am unfamiliar with. Mine has a status of A1A- which means priviledged worker. Hence he gets calls every day. If someone was A2B status, not a worker status, they get one phone call a month between the lst and the 10th.

There are 40 men in a block. 20 cells of 2 men, and they alternate different times during the day when they have Day room and phones. Some days morning, some afternoons and some evening.

I'll try and research this a bit more, but perhaps you can ask yours what his status is in terms of working. This is all I can tell you right now.


I forgot to ask if they get yard every day.

I'll try and do that tomorrow, but 15 minutes phone call goes by so fast. Let me know if there is anything you want me to ask, and I will try and fit it in. Again this is C yard, LEvel 4 SNY yard, which may be different from other yards. Love,

My mom went to go visit my brother but he was behind the glass. She was pretty dissapointed but atleast she got to see him.

Why were they on lockdown? Are the hispanics the only ones on lockdown?

It is true from what my man tells me, a hispanic stabbed another hispanic. But only that yard is on lockdown, not the rest of the facility. Which he says, kind of surprises him.
