If there is anyone out there that can explain this win-win in appeals that people keep talking about, I would really appreciate it. :confused:

When the one side wins then the other side can appeal. The first side needs to win 2 times in a row for it to be over finally. One side is the defense and the other is prosecutor or Attorney General depending on the level you're at.... I hope this explains it well enough.
