Well its official no more T.O. in an Eagles uniform. The coach has had enough ... he will sit out the next 3 games (without pay) then he'll be deactivated. I'm so bummed about the whole thing and I wish he'd have just his mouth shut. He is a super athlete and he'll always have a special place in my heart for his comeback in the Superbowl last year. Besides that he is a beautiful site to behold in that tight uniform. I wish him the best and I hope he learns a lesson from this mess!! I'm in Jersey but there's lots of Eagle fans here but I am definitely in the minority wishing he would just apologize to the team and patch things up!!!!! Think its too late though:cry:

Personally, I think they should have done that a LONG time ago. He has NO right to publicly rag on his teammates (ESPECIALLY not Donovan McNabb) or the organization for "not recognizing his 100th TD catch". Gimme a break. It is unfortunate because regardless of his immense talent, he will always be remembered for his crappy attitude, oddities, and rude little stunts.

Plus, if you look into it more... what kind of message would we be sending to our youth (most of whom regard athletes as role models) if we basically let them do whatever they want just because they're good??? I definitely think a line needs to be drawn somewhere and that sportsmanship needs to be emphasized and upheld, so I fully agree with the Eagles' decision.

P.S. I also agree with it because that's better news for the Giants!! LOL J/K :blah:

There's no question that T O shot his mouth too often and with too much ugly coming out of it. It's always been his problem. I've been an Eagles fan for 40-some years, and I know how much this hurts team performance, but this guy is just an ego with moves, and you've got to be better than that to truly be a great player.

Exactly. I hope one day (hopefully after this) he will learn his lesson so his natural abilities don't just go to waste.

:argh: Sorry, I beg to differ... Donovan McNabb has has to much baby talk time. I don't agree with TO going off about his mom, but the things he said about him are true. He has been scared out of Victory. More than once he was beat out of Victory. Its about bottom line in football, produce or its done. Not with TO, he is about results. He played in the SuperBowl HURT... And had an awsome game. Yet McNabb did not execute. QB is team leader....Where will he lead the team? Whats the purpose of him if he doesn't produce? So yes TO said what he said and meant it. He has attitude but he is also a player. And the coach needs to get with the program, cause Philly fans believe in winning and its not happening with McNabb.

Even if McNabb was the worst quarterback in the league... I personally don't agree with one teammate PUBLICLY criticizing another teammate or the organization they are with. I didn't like when McNabb said stuff back about TO over the summer, but to me the difference is that since then McNabb has handled himself with class, while TO has not. I am almost positive that wherever TO goes, he will have something to say about somebody. It will always be somebody else's fault, and in my opinion, being a member of a team is NOT about pointing fingers or praising oneself. It's about working TOGETHER as a TEAM. And no matter how much physical ability a team has, if they don't work together, I think it is extremely hard for the team to be successful in the long run. But again, that's only my opinion.

You can say that again, year after year, if it aint one team it's another with us.....we come so close to the end and then we crash and burn. The way these fans are around here, I'm shocked that there haven't been riots over these teams we have.

i too agree with this .. and i do agree with no more scary .. mcnabb .. is like a mcfad .. there was a spark and a glimmer and he never lived up to it ... TO made some uncalled for statements and for that he gets what he got.. Its no one fault but his own..

I think the coach had to make this decision its just hurts a little to see a great player go and I wish they could have worked it out. I think T.O.'s agent is also an egomaniac and is part of the problem just not sure how much. I love the whole team, especially McNabb. Seems to me everyone's always after McNabb and that makes me want to see him do well all the more.

no more scary, I had to laugh at your post. Philly fans are so used to getting their hearts broken year after year after year! Its a long standing tradition. Thatcher Longstretch once said Philly fan's feel the way about their sports teams just like people feel about their kids ... we get mad at them, once in a while we may even hate them but no matter what we will always love them. :)

Both players are capable of great things, but to say that McNabb doesn't have the guts??? He and the team should have decided on the surgery a month ago and let him heal before getting to the playoffs. Trying to work with the injuries he has is crazy! But he keeps going; to me that's plenty of guts. Just note that T.O. has had this problem before, which is how he got to Philly initially.

I hope Dallas picks up TO. If Philly doesn't want him he'd be gladly welcomed down in TX.
