In the Kansas City/Oakland game earlier today, the score was 23-20 Oakland with 5 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Kansas City had the ball at the 1-yard line and it was 4th down. They could've either tried for the field goal to tie the game up and force it into overtime or went for the touchdown/win and risked losing the game. They went for the touchdown and won.
My question to you is, what would you do in that situation if you were the Kansas City coach?

I don't have the slightest idea what needed to be done. I caught the game with a minute and so left with the Raiders ahead. I started watching it cause it's my son's team and I was hoping he was watching since it was a network game and he has a tv in his cell; anyway, I channel surfed for a minute and came back to the game, and see Chiefs as winner. What the heck happened. :)

Hmmm that's a good question. Going for the TD was good cause they got it and won the game, but also kicking the field goal and going into OT is good too. I dont know!

I thought the "rule" was to always go for the sure thing, the field goal forcing the OT. But since I think the coach is Dick Vermeil I know he goes with his heart. I wonder if he thought he would let his team down by not showing his faith in them. Dick Vermeil is a great coach, he used to be the Eagle's coach long time ago and is still loved to this day in Philly.
