In the ongoing saga of when (or if!) Denver will ever leave Mule Creek, I have todays offering.
Denver is scheduled to release the 10th. Thursday. :) YESTERDAY he was told he can't release then because he is high control and has to report the day after release. OK, I can see that, even though we have known he is high control for about 6 months. His new release date you ask?
The 12th....A SATURDAY. Now of course the form he got said to contact them immediately if there were any questions. Neither he, nor the CO in his building could get anyone on the phone and no one answered the voicemail message they left, either. (But be sure you let them know immediately!)

AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!

This should clear up everything:

Records called him back yesterday and told him they were POSITIVE his release date was Saturday. 10 minutes later she called again and said no, she was wrong, it will be Sunday. Half an hour later, his counselor called and said that the girl in records was wrong, it will be Saturday. That certainly clears things up.

So I tried the Parole Agent, a very nice man, by the way. He called records and was still waiting for a call back, after 4 hours. He said his paperwork showed Saturday, clear as day. However, all the rules say no high release inmate can release on Saturday, it has to be Sunday. His guess is that sometime this week, someone will notice and change the date to Sunday. But that person could be the R&R officer at 4am on Saturday morning. It's also possible that he will slide by and actually release on Saturday. Thanks, that's much better.

So, do I take Saturday off work, get up at 4am, drive 3.5 hours, only to spend the day holding his hand in visiting, while spending $60 on a hotel, or just show up Sunday if he doesn't get off the bus on Saturday????

Clear as mud, huh?
I would probably go Saturday just to make sure.
Congratulations on his homecoming whatever day it is!

Damn, I would be pissed:angry: ...but does it surprise me that CDC....woops I forgot the "R" (CDCR):shake: can get their sh!@ together...."Heck NO!!!!" The same thing happened to my friends husband.

Just to be on the safe side if I were you I would go on Saturday, worse comes to worse they say he isn't getting released until Sunday. So you visit with him the whole day on Saturday and then show up the next morning. I think that would be your safest bet.

Oh yeah and to add icying to the cake of my friends husband's story....why did they tell her she couldn't pick him up because he was on an INS hold!!!! INS HOLD...her husband was born and raised in CA and his parents aren't imagrants...those dumb a$$es!!! So she had to fax the prison a copy of his birth certificate to get the INS Hold taken off! LMAO....damn I would have loved to see theri expressions when they realized, "oh yeah he is a US Citizen!!!"

Good luck on the homecoming and let us all know how it goes ok!

I suspected that it DOES happen, although we have raised such a fuss that I'm pretty sure they'll get it changed to Sunday. After all the delays, (he was orgininally set for 10/20) and the five different dates since then, I think they've drug this out as far as they can. OOOPS! Now I said it out loud!:D

Violation release is different, I've done it too. But for some reason this seems to be different. Even his parole agent says it doesn't make sense.

Just so everyone knows (I'm sure you've all been wondering  ), Denver was actually released on Saturday. :faint: I found out Friday late afternoon that it was a go, and had to call in to work and run my fanny to get everything done and me there in time.:ha:
So he's here, I'm here and all is well. So Ladies, always remember that you can't depend on the CDCR to follow it's own rules!:p
