George Parsons was picked up by local law enf. for what I was told was a federal warrant, held for 2 weeks in a county jail. Now he's gone. They said the 'feds' took him to 'Carolina'. He did 2 years time and was paroled before we met. He was in the Air Force then. I've talked to 2-3 departments in each base in 3 states. We had just moved to this state to get married and start a new life the day before they took him. Does anyone know how I can find him??

They couldnt tell you what part of carolina he is in.. i see that in N. Carollina that the george parson is inactive so he is not there. .. If he was in the military did you call the base that he was in..

Have you tried the federal inmate locator ar www.bop.gov? If the feds got him, thats where you'll find him

All the bases are saying is 'he's back in the system in North or South Carolina but we're not sure where' and the feds say they don't have him. Is there a way to search military prisons? The feds say their systems are separate.

seelenmesse,

The BOP system is separate from the military system.

First thing I need to know is: has your husband received any kind of discharge from the Air Force? Do you have what is called a DD-214 for him?

I am a bit confused about what you stated above, if he has done time - either state or fed - he would normally already be discharged from the service. At least, that is the way we did it in the Coast Guard, if a military member had state or Fed charges/conviction - the Coast Guard would normally give the member a Administrative Discharge rather than hold them for trial under the Military system as well.

We did at times wait to see what the outcome of the civilian trial was, and depending on the outcome - then try them at Courts-martial. I am probably confusing you.

The calls you made already were they to the Legal office on those bases?

If for some reason the Air Force decided to not discharge him and hold him for future Courts-martial. I would do the following:

I would make two phone calls, first again to the Legal office of the nearest Air Force Base and if you cannot get any help there the next to the Chaplain's office.

I would explain to both the situation inform them that you are trying to locate where your husband is being held. Depending on their response you may have to follow up with written requests.

If he is still being administratively held for future legal action and you cannot get an answer from the legal officer then the chaplain is the next place to go. You would be amazed how fast of a response you get if a good Chaplain gets involved.

Also, I noticed that you have already checked with the BOP, have you spoken to the state DOCs, not checked the inmate locator but actually called them to see if there is a status for him?

Depending on what you find out about the situation there is so many avenues to go.

Thanks so much for the replys/support. G was finally able 2 call me. He's in the Navyconbrig in Charleston SC. There are so many things wrong w/what has happened to him:angry: - too many 2 list here!!! The latest ones: not feeding him, refusing him his glasses (even to read the Bible) and shaving his head (nobody else got their head shaved upon arrival- that's just sickening). And still no one has spoken a word to him about why he's there or given any access to medical care or counsel.
I need a good resource referral if that's allowed here or privately off site. (Moderator may need to clue me in here:) )
He was dishonorably discharged two months ago (after 23yrs-no benefits) he's no longer property of the military. I may be wrong, but this is normally considered kidnapping.

My best wishes to all of you this Veteran's Day weekend. It is a very bitter one for me. May we all find a little bit of peace and resolution soon:grouphug:

I am glad you have heard from him since - I am also going to move this post into the Military prison forum we have here on the board so you can get more assistance from someone who is more familiar with that area..... once again really glad you heard from him.....

Your husband needs to request a JAG AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! The military can hold him a lot longer than any civilian authority before charging him, but if he's been discharged, I'm not sure they even have jurisdiction anymore. There may be facts specific to his case that give the military jurisdiction, so please, please, please, GET A JAG working on this ASAP!

Your husband has a right to a speedy trial just like a civilian would. He needs counsel! It would help me more if you knew why he was oicked up. Ohh "the feds" they were cross country chasers; military bounty hunters. Your local police picked him up because there was a warranty for his arrest. Then they called the military.

One last thing; don't be surprised if he gets transfered to Camp Lejeune Base Brig since that would be closer to his former command.
