can anyone tell me anything about ECI in Southern Md. My son just got moved there and he says its not bad, i'm just wondering how much he hides from me or is he telling me the truth, he was in M.T.C. in Baltimore where he just got moved from and he hated it there, at first he was in MCTC in Hagerstown and said that place was not that bad but so far away,. now he's further yet. 3hours farther but if he's more safer there than so be it I guess.

I didn't like ECI when my husband was there..at the time it was the worst prison in MD. I am not sure what it is like now. They were trying to make changes there but not sure how much. I know this may not be much good news on my part but my hubby survived it so I know that your son will do ok. Prayerfully, they have made changes in it since he was there.

Hi - my PP does all the murals etc in there - he hasn't mentioned anything being too bad there :)

My fiance was recently transferred to ECI, I havent been to visit him yet... I am interested to hear what others have to say about the living conditions... He has been very standoffish on the phone, saying how crowded it is.

There's been some trouble over the new year - but things seem to have almed down again - it's mostly the younger guys from what I can tell (Bills 39)
He says there was ONE lockdown and another where only a few (the main troublemakers) were 'away' but since then - all seems cool :)

My boyfriend is at ECI... hes been there about a month and he tells me that it's not bad at all... i went for our first visit a couple weekends ago and all and all the COs were nice and welcoming and we were only suppose to have a 4 hour visit and we ended up having a 5 hour visit and it could have been longer expect that it was getting late and i wanted to get home with the baby. i'm sure your son is fine. oh and as far as lock down when he first got transferred there it was when they were on lock down but since then there they havn't been.

i find the picture taking to be crazy at eci and the rules there are so much different then any other prison in maryland

Everything is back to normal at ECI these days :)
