Hi everyone,

Any information regarding visiting someone in level 2 detention at Polunsky Unit (I live in Europe) is welcomed!
- number of visits accorded to the inmate?
- do I have to get an appointment?

Thanks,

Catherine Vardi

Moving this to Death Row Q&A as you will get quicker answers in there.

Hi,
Don't quote me on this but I believe he gets 2 visits per month. No special visits just the regular 2 hour visits. I have heard from some that the prison is telling some people different but you can check with the Ombuds office in Huntsville.

Hi Catherine!

I just visited my penpal at Polunsky Unit - he's on level 2. I scheduled my special visit before he had to go to level 2. Because of this we were allowed a 4-hour-visit on Monday.:D But they didn't allow us a 4 hour visit on Tuesday... Only 2 hours.:(
If you haven't scheduled your visit before he was moved to level 2, there's no way to have a special visit. :(
They are allowed 2 regular visits a month then, I think. My penpal asked me to schedule a regular visit for Saturday - you have to call the prison if you want to visit him on a Saturday! They ask you if you want to visit him in the 1st (5.30 - 7.30 pm) or 2nd round (8 - 10 pm).
If you want to have a regular visit on every other day of the week, you can just come to the prison without calling them. On Saturday there are MANY people, by the way! So I would prefer to come to see him on another day of the week.

Greetings from Germany,
Patty

Thanks Patty!
Actually I visited my penpal this last X-mas, my message was posted last year and I found out how to see him. I hope to go there as soon as possible, we had a wonderful time talking to each other. Were do you live in Germany? You can PM me if you want. Hope to read you soon. Catherine
