List any an all local shops nearby the facility you visit...or in your are, like supermarkets you go to for your FRP or packages, local stores who may or may not deliver food to the inmates, a place to stop to eat when you visit....

altona correctional, which is about 20 minutes from plattsburgh, has all the shopping, restaurants, hotels, a mall. basically anything you are looking for.

The local supermarket is Tops Markets http://www.topsmarkets.com/. They have just about everthing you could want there. They even had a fairly large Hispanic foods section. It is about a 10 minute drive from the facility. I buy Nuro food from there and bring it to him on a visit.

The two closest malls are Eastern Hills Mall http://www.shopeasternhills.com/ and Walden Galleria Mall http://www.waldengalleria.com/. There are all sorts of eateries and strip malls to and from both malls that contain stores like WalMart and Target.

Clinton - Local supermarkets are Price Chopper , Hannaford, Aldi.They are 9 miles from the facility in a town called Plattsburgh. In Dannemora, (the town Clinton is in) there is a drug store called Maggies. It has the shampoo and hair products like gel etc... you need , and the seal it for you. the charge goes by the weight and they will send it to the prison.

I live very close to Livingston ,Groveland..There is a Super WalMart about 15 minutes away,along with a Wegmans Grocery Store. There is a MacDonalds,Wendys, Burger King, Tim Hortons,Denny's,Pondersoa. The town they are all in is named Geneseo,which is also a college town. There is a Country Suites about 5 minutes from the prison in a town named Mt. Morris 585-658-4080. Greenway Motel 585-658-4500.

Wegman's in Dewitt and Elmira are approved vendor's to send food to NYS facilities. You must go to one of those stores, buy the food, go to the Customer Service desk and fill out paperwork, and pay the fee. These are the only Wegman's that will do this.

Another place in Plattsburg is Prays Market. It is a farmers market and you can pick out all the fresh veggies, fruit and cheese that you want to send and for 5$ shipping they will deliver to the prison on Tuesdays. It is right on Rt3 just a little ways off of 87.

If you go there just tell them you want to put together an order for the prison and they will give you a clip board with everything listed on it so you can walk around and mark off the things you want and how much. They will pack up the order on the delivery day. You can then take a copy of the list with you and phone in orders. They are very nice people and will tell you what is on sale and what is in season over the phone.

I visit at Southport. Can anyone tell me in or near Elmira where I can get some Christmas Shopping done? I walmart, kmart, toys r us a shopping mall of any kind? I'm going next weekend alone, so it would be a good time to shop for Starr (or anyone). Thanks.

I live south of southport, the best place you will find is the mall & consumer square off future I86 aka rt17 every shop can be found there Sams Club Dick's Walmart Toys R Us Applebees Outback etc etc
rt17 west you cant miss it..

elmira heights has an old hesselsons that is very good, but struggling since all business has moved to Horseheads Mall / Consumer Square.

walmart in waterloo will ship to 5 points, get everything you need, take it to layaway and they will ship it, they may ship to Auburn too, cause it is only 14 miles from Waterloo.

I go to Cape Vincent CF which is about 30 min out of Watertown. When I stay in Watertown, I stay on Arsenal St. which is basically a main strip. There are a bunch of restuarants: McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Long John Silvers, some chinese, Applebees, Red Lobster. The have a mall called Salomon Run Mall. There is a strip mall with a FABULOUS $1 store..I easily spend $50 in there when I go..lol..TJ Maxx, Fashion Bug, Payless..hope this helps!

Near Mt. McGregor Correctional. Exit 15 is a Super WalMart across the street from a clean Super 8. There is a supermarket inside there too.

Same exit has tons of fast food resturants and a Fridays.

The Sunoco Gas Station off exit 16 (the one for the prison) has a kick ass breakfast menu. Real Stick to the ribs greasy truck stop food. Great service and bottomless coffee pots :thumbsup:

For inmates at Attica and Wyoming, the Quality Market in Attica delivers food packages once a week and are acceptable vendors. The service is free. Contact the store for a list and how to go about purchasing without visiting the store. The number is: 585-591-8092.
