Well...it looks like we all made it through Halloween and it's the beginning of a brand new month and yes Turkey Time:D

As for me this is going to be a busy month. My daughters birthday is the 14th, we will be celebrating on the Saturday before because I will be leaving to Houston the day of her birthday for business and will return that Wednesday:( ...total bummer the first and hopefully only birthday that I will not be able to celebrate with her.

And then of course it will be Thanksgiving before ya know it. Ahhhh:p Turkey, dressing, potatoes...yummy!

Christmas will be here and gone before ya know it too. I already have alot of shopping done, which is good cause I usually wait until the last minute.

I hope all of you are doing well and have been able to visit your loved ones.

Have a great day and a great month!!! Take Care and stay positive as always!!!!:)

((Hugs))

Hi everyone. Well with the Holidays getting closer by the minute my stomach is starting to turn :( . What am i to do alone? I dont want to go to my family's....its not the same...my family isnt complete...and i feel awkward. I envy them sometimes...seeing the kids with their dads....and the couples.....i know i shouldnt feel this way but it just happens, i got those emotions. But i dont want to lock myself in the house because its not fair for my 2 year old. I know he still doesnt know, but I know. And then its my bday in dec and our anniversary as well. Man...this sucks. But i promise il try to make the best of it :o . Its all i can do right? Thanks for listening/reading.

Hi guys. First my good news. I am leaving to fly out to Arizona the day after Thanksgiving to see my love!!!

I haven't seen him in a year and a half but we are stronger than we have ever been and we are both SO excited. Plus this will be our first contact visit. Oh Lord...give me strength......Still working on those marriage plans....still waiting on that warden to get with it and approve us. I am also going to hook up with some of Eric's family...we have gotten to know each other this past month and it is GREAT! So I am most CERTAINLY looking forward to these next months! :D :D :D :D   :D :D :) :) :D :D

For the other gals....pixie78....my only suggestion is to take the holidays just one day at a time. That is all any of us have and deal with the "real" holidays when they get here.....face those problems when you have to. No need to worry in advance. It just uses up energy. If I looked at everything in my life as how it would be in the future, I would be useless today. So I really try to do my best to cope just for today.

Soulmate4ever: I can relate to a child that is "difficult" to deal with. I have 10 (almost 11) year old twins (boy and a girl) and my son is more than a handful. Again, I do my best to deal with my situation with him just one day at a time. I love my son but don't always like him. That doesn't make me a bad person...just human. And so are you. If it is possible, take a couple of minutes out to just breathe, count to 10 or 100.... and move forward. We are stronger than we know!!

Hey, we are all here to support each other and I found it to be wonderful for me. AND I have been told I have a great pair of ears for listening. I am here for both of you if you want to PM me. OK? Ok. :help:

Holidays for me mean gathering donations--for the homeless teen center where I work and for the Native Americans with whom I volunteer. I am asking my family to cut back, except for my grandson whom I will have to spoil. I just bought my holiday stamps today--cute little cookies. I hope they have something special in the inmate stores that won't cost them an arm and a leg. My penpals already eat too many sweets.

Hi all!
I do understand how you feel going thru the holidays and missing your loved one. My family lives out of state and I will be going there for Thanksgiving then to see my honee the day after. But as far as Christmas, I stay home alone and it is mostly like any other day of the week with the exception of church. I don't really want to be with friends and their families. That makes me really sad and missing my honee more. So I hear ya gals! Not too appealing. But we will all get thru it and one day it will be allllllllllllll better. Right? Chin up everyone! I'm here for whoever needs me.
Take care and God bless you all.

Folks, the guys do celebrate. They miss their families but they make the best of it. With the extra store they buy around the hollidays there are some awsome parties. They are very inovative and can cook up some good meals with what is available to them. Keep in mind that your holiday cards and photos mean an awful lot to them and the cards are displayed well into the new year so keep those cards coming. They miss you and at times there are tears, hard to see on a grown man, but they are there. Heart to heart, mind to mind, they are with you in spirit............

Hey all. I just wanted to say thanks to Limey as well for his kind thoughts. I try my best to get my man some money for extra store this time of year cause I know it means a lot to him....it really is my Christmas gift to him as he can't receive packages or anything!! Boy, don't get me started on that one. I suppose a few that have sent contraband in have ruined it for the rest of us. OH well. I sure wish they would treat the inmates just a little bit better. I know prison is not a spa by any stretch but sometimes I think that the powers that be forget that these men are still human. We all NEED to be treated as such.
Grrrrrrrr... :twocents:

Moving on.......I guess I am curious, too, Limey...how do the guys "cook" up these specialties you mentioned. I would think they would get a write up if they were busy playing with matches .... even if it was to cook some special meals for the holidays. Just wondering if you would be so kind as to elaborate on that one just a little bit. Thanks.

Okay. Happy Holidays to every single body!!

Just got back from Key West. What a mess. All the leaves are stripped from trees and debris is everywhere. Missed a call from a PTO buddy while in flight:( .

I didn't have a letter from my friend who'd transferred from Newton in my mailbox upon return. It's been 3 weeks and I am freaking out now.

Gosh, it's already time for Thanksgiving cards to go out.

Chintath~ you still haven't figured out where your friend is yet? Did you search on vine? I hope you hear from him soon!!! Let us know when you do!!

So what is everyones plans for the Holiday coming up? I will be spending Thanksgiving with my parents, other than that just a bunch of eating and lounging around with family!!!

Take Care...hope all is well with you and your loved ones!!!!

Well, I am starting to get ready for my big VISIT...the first contact one no less!! Yoooowwwweeeeee~ I went shopping today to get some duds that won't get me thown out before I even get in to see him. :) Starting to kind of daydream a little about what I will take and making a list of things to take inside the facility such as a clear bag for quarters for the vending machines.....stuff like that.

As for Thanksgiving, my twins (Matt & Becky) and I are going over to my niece's as her new boyfriend is doing all the cooking...so I won't have to cook or kill myself doing all the dishes myself...LOLOL I can just come back home and get ready for the plane ride the next morning straight to Tucson, with a stop over in Chicago. Everyone pray there are no delays of any kind and everything goes smoothly.

I just can't wait to get there!!!!!:D :) :) :D

So with that, Happy turkey Day everyone!! You know it just can't get here fast enough for me!

Found my friend! Got a letter today dated Nov. 1. Unfortunately, he's in detention. I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and not be mad since there is nothing posted on the website yet.

Nancymae, hope your visit and everyone else's went well. Hope everyone didn't gain as much weight as I did over Thanksgiving.
