As if this move isnt hard enough on the families the facility holds outgoing mail and only processes on certain days. I dont know about everyone else, but this move is just as hard if not harder on those of us left behind. When I talked to my husband the other day he told me that he mailed a letter out to me and I still havnet gotten it. I have heard that one of the processing days is on Tuesdays and I have no idea when the other one is. It takes at least 3-4 days for mail to get from MN to ID if it is mailed out right away, but when you have to wait however long before its ever mailed out then it takes much longer.
We need those letters from them just as much as they need mail from us. Its that mail from them that keeps us strong.
Can I scream yet.......... I was having a real crappy day yesterday. The fact that right now I am quitting smoking makes it easier to tip me over the edge. After having the day that I did I was hoping I would finally get a letter from my husband. I waited for the mail all day long and of course he was late. He finally showed up, but still no letter.
If they would process mail out daily like most prisons do then I wouldbt be waiting 2 weeks for a letter.
Sorry about the vent, but I want a letter...

Calm down T! It used to be the same way here when he was in DVI. Tracy is only 1 hr away from me but it would take up to two weeks to get his letters sometimes! and over a month for him to get mine!
Maybe they have a staff shortage or something? Or maybe MN only picks up at the prisons on certain days?
Just trying to be logical and SANE here, to calm down the INSANE woman who posted... LMAO!
LMAO...You crazy nut
I finally got the letter today. He mailed it on the 26th, it was post marked on the 31st and I recieved it today (the 2nd). So it appears it sat at the prison longer then what it actually took for it to travel.
When I talked to him last night he did say he has gotten all the letters I have sent him. Thats the part that really makes no sense. Someone has to either laeve the prison daily to get the mail or someone has to bring mail to the prison daily so why cant that same person who is getting/bringing the incoming mail take the out going mail at the same time. You would think the out going mail would be so much easier to process. Its the incoming mail that is opened and checked....I just dont get it

Maybe they have some sort of system going, like 2 days for outgoing and 5 days for incoming mail. Like collecting, sorting, passing it out, going through it, etc. Who knows? You might call the prison mail room and ask them about it. Knowing you, we will have an answer on that soon! LOL

I am able to get mail from my boyfriend every day and he's in Appleton. I do live in MN but I know they mail out every day. I'm not sure if they used to process it only a couple of days a week but I know there have been weeks I've gotten a letter every day.
