MY Ex-Step Dad is in Kilby in Mt Meigs Alabama where they are so over crowded it's not funny. He is due to be Released in 2007 Hopefully sooner he has a Federal Case against Alabama for double convicting him on one case! Hopefully he'll be out sooner!

My fiance' is at Kilby where overcrowding is deffinately a problem. They have him listed as going to Limestone but his Lawyer tells me week after week he is coming out on community corrections.

My brother, Bamagirl032's husband, is in Hamilton Work Release.

My sister in law was just transferred from Tutwiler to South Louisiana Correction Center in Basile, La.

My Kevin is in Etowah County Detention Center awaiting his revocation hearing. If they revoke his parole he will most likely be sent back to St. Clair where he served 8 years previously.

My fiance is in Elmore County Jail Waiting Extraditment back to Minnesota.

close friend is at Cattle Ranch in Greensboro (thats the place to be, you would believe it...no fences, no seaches, like a boys camp...take in what ever you want, food, cothes, even your pets....its the best place to be if you gotta be there)

Even though I am new to PTO some of you may have already read some of my posts since My Baby is incarcerated in a different state (Florida)....
So why am I posting here???....Well, I also have a brother who is incarcerated in Mt. Meigs, Alabama / permanet party inmate at Kilby Correctional Institution serving a 99 year sentence found guilty for a crime he did not commit. Thank God he is close to HOME and wasn't one of the many that they just shipped to Mississippi from there!!

My husband has been in Easterling C.F. in Clio for the past 9+ years but has spent the last [almost] 26 years in various prisons throughout Alabama. His next parole date should be in January (Lord willing they will be caught up by then) and it is very likely he will be released. Traveling down to see him (I'm in NW Wisconsin) means I don't get to see him as often as I would like to but in the past couple of years, I try to go about every 3-4 months. I've written to him since shortly after his arrest (1978) and finally married the man 15 months ago! :p

I was at the Prison myself in 1999 I stayed 6 weeks. Then I was sent to Edwina Mitchell Work Release for remainder of sentence. Which was 2 years 11 months. Total.

My son was at Bullock moved to Mississippi and now at Bibb. In August he will be minimum custody so who knows from there. If something isn't done about overcrowding soon hopefully the FEDS will step in and home will be his next stop!

my brother is in kilby correctional faulity, in mount meigs alabama. im haveing a hard time with the phone system . he has been there since feb. 27 2004, and he still hasnt got to call me because they say my phone is blocked. t-netix is a bad company have spent 150.00 for him to call me. and 75.00 for hime to call my sister. and still ahvent got to hear from him.

Hi Christy...my son was in kilby before going to Bullock. They usually send you there to process you into the system. Then on to another prison. You can search some of the older post in this forum and find alot of information on Kilby. Or you can post a new thread and ask whatever you want to know and plenty will come and help you with your questions you have. This is a great place with alot of support and information.

Thanks, I want be able to get on here that much seeing as i have to use the comp. at the library. And my dad hopes that i have enough patience to teach him how to use the internet once he gets home. To alot of us 10 years isnt a long time but Walmart was just starting to hit big 10 years ago. There was no such thing as super walmart or super k. I just hope he adjusts well to it all.

RJ...first offense drug charges...he should get it into a drug program better fast, i'm sure he'll fall into the early parole hearings and be out of there pretty quick...unlike us violent offenders...

I normal get to go every visit thanks to family living in Mobile. Anyone needing a seat. Let me know. I have # kids but 3 seats avalible. I'd like some adult conversation on the way. Just thought I would get that out since I know I am Blessed to be able to visit.

hi Mom my son was just released from Bibb. In my opinion it is one of the best ones to be at. They have dorms and it is set in a beautiful rural setting in the hills around Brent, Al. For the most part he and I were treated with respect, and he didn't get any write ups there the whole 2 years. I don't think there is a lot of trouble there. I was relieved the first time I drove up there and saw it. It is several wings of dorms, all one story. Try not to worry I think it is one of the best places he could be given the other choices.

kenny's been at bibb for almost 3 years now, so far everything been fine, he's in the faith dorm so its a little more "settled" than some of the other dorms. Even when Kenny was in the other dorms he didn't have any problems. Thankfully I can't recall a single time of any violent behavior going on, you know there's always going to be one that steals stuff out of boxes and causes problems, but I believe he's in a safe place compared to other places. The vistation is better than most, except i can't smoke, that's fine with Kenny, because he hates me smoken' anyway.

My husband is at Ventress. We got our first visit this Saturday, Jan 15...I was nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof, i think he was too.... He was at Kilby for a short time...now if we can just get him in the SAP program so he can come home when he's supposed to...I've heard that parole board is so far behind that we arent putting any high hopes in to that

My little cousin was at Holman but he has sinced been released and he has violated his probation and I believe they are trying to send him back to prison. Does anyone know of a number to an agency that i can phone to determine rather or not his probation officer in Alabama has violated him?

I also have two associates at Holman.... I have yet to meet either of them... One of them was on death row but he had his sentence commuted....Maybe your husband can do the same...

How's the weather in Dothan right now? I use to live there many years ago... I am originally from Miami, and I thought that I could use a change of scenery so I heased to Dothan, boy was I wrong.

Wait, my husband went thur TCC years ago at Limestone. From what i understand it is a very intense drug program where everyone lives in a dorm together away from general pop..

Msflemming...LOL..weathers great today...like so so many my husband is BACK in prison after being on parole....it seems, hear say only, that most of the P.O.'s are giving parolees a break as much as possible except when a NEW crime is committed...

my brother-in-law is at kilby CF, and my closest friend is at ventress CF, and my ex is in staton CF. i need any information on any of the drug programs at any of these facilities? i need to know also about a work release program at Elmore CF? any information is greatly appreciated! thanks!:confused:

My son is currently in Baldwin County, waiting to be transported to Kilby, and then maybe to St. Clair TP.

He (Bobby McAnally) is located at Limestone in Harvest Al. In the Honor Dorm (16)

I also have a cousin ( Shannon Gilbert ) in Tutwiler . She is scared to death. If anyone goes there or gets a call from there tell Shannon Joey says hello.

hi bullock c f is the name of it at union springs --my son josh was there for a year untill his release --bullock is one of the better camps all the guards were real nice on vist. days ---josh has been home a year this last feb ---joshs dad

My husband finally made it to Mobile WR... hes been in Staton, Kilby, and St. Clair Co. Jail

[B]hello slashley if your boy friend is at bullock he got one of the better camps i had a son who was there in 2004 for a year if it hasent changed it is a real good camp all the guards were real nice and the camp was just laid back i think he will like it at bullock

Well, he only has about a month left there. He's been there for about 2 years. Some of the guards, he's not too fond of, but they're okay for the most part. I know that there is a certain seargent there that is really helpful to me and looks out for him. That's always a good thing. I haven't heard too many major complaints, just the normal griping. That would come no matter where he would be, though.

My son is at the Camden Work Release Center. He was transfered from Staten in Elmore Alabama. He was first at the Birmingham Jail, then Draper, Staten and now WR. I really want to know more about this place.
