Eight prizewinning Bay State photographers are showing strikingly original works at the Art Space Gallery in Maynard.
Recipients of the Massachusetts Cultural Council's artist grant awards, they use widely varied techniques to create distinctive personal styles.
Stephen Tourlentes is showing large-format, silver print black-and-white photos of prisons and death houses across the nation. Nocturnal exterior shots of the New York State death row or the state prison in Buckeye, Ariz., are both abstract meditations on crime and punishment and grim pictures of actual penal institutions.
It does'nt have the pics, thought maybe someone might actually go and tell us about it???
