I have been giving my son quotes and proverbs for quite some time now. Only recently has he appreciated them. I am hoping that they may help your children ponder the meaning of life and give them hope for the future too.
A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.
A mill cannot grind with water that is past.
It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness.
To be wronged is nothing unless you continue to remember it.
The real fault is to have faults and not amend them.
Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.
Keep your mouth shut and your ears open.
There's only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self.
